Trump: F-35 program costs are 'out-of-control' ~ link ~ WAY THE HELL OUT-OF-CONTROL!!!  As I have said before, in the DOD (Department of Defense) we are seeing two rather scary graphs: One, that is going through the ceiling, is the cost of R&D and procurement of key weapon systems, aircraft, ships. etc.; The other, which is going through the floor, is the actual delivered and workable such systems. The USS Gerald Ford is a mess, after many billions of dollars in R&D for the new launch system and other features; the ship cannot maintain combat operations.  The latest destroyers and LCSs break down repeatedly and have massive problems at very high acquisition costs.  The F-35C (US Navy version) is way behind and should be canceled.  The F-35B model is far from ready but is so needed by the USMC, to replace the old Harrier jump jets, that we are locked into the need to purchase it.  The F-35A (USAF) model is far from combat ready and way over budget and way behind in deployment. The overall F-35 is a flying supercomputer missile launch system that takes data feeds from satellites, AWACS and other planes, ground and ship based sources.  However, if that feed is cut and/or the computers are fried via EW, the F-35 cannot out-dogfight a 45+ year old MiG-21!!!  One key problem is that there exists a type of cabal in the defense industry that is very good at extracting vast amounts of money from 'Uncle Sugar' (what many in the DOD and defense industry call 'Uncle Sam') but not very good, anymore, at delivering working weapons/planes/ships that we can afford.  They screw up and we pay for the screw up and the fix for the screw up and then we pay to fix the 'fix', etc. and the companies make money all along!!!  The people in DOD, both senior civilian management people and uniform officers, who are involved in procurement and R&D, almost never face dismissal for doing a bad job and in many cases, look forward to 'retirement' jobs in the same industry that they failed to oversee well!!!  Even America cannot afford any more of this crap!!!  Stirling

The latest target of President-elect Donald Trump’s criticism is the Joint Strike Fighter program. He tweeted that, under his administration, the US military will end the overspending and save billions of dollars. "The F-35 program and cost is out of control. Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20th," he wrote.
Pentagon creates a misleading response to Senator McCain's criticism of the program's many problems ~ link ~ I have not always agreed with Senator McCain, but I have to say he is 'right on' with his strong criticisms of the way procurement and R&D has deteriorated in the Pentagon!!!  Stirling
The Pentagon has reportedly been preparing a “misleading” response to the Senate’s criticism of delays in the F-35’s progress. An internal memo pointed at “prevarications” regarding the stealth combat aircraft’s development timeframe.

“If not changed, the existing responses would at best be considered misleading and at worst, prevarications,” the Pentagon’s director of operational testing, Michael Gilmore, wrote in a memo obtained by Bloomberg.

The internal document appears to criticize the Pentagon’s draft report, meant to be sent to Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), who questioned Defense Secretary Ash Carter on the progress setbacks facing the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II in early November.

Syrian Army close to final victory in Aleppo ~ link ~

Syria's army says the battle for Aleppo is in its final phase, after major gains by troops in the city's south left rebels on the brink of defeat.

Lt Gen Zaid al-Saleh, head of the government's local security committee, said rebel fighters did not "have much time" and needed to "surrender or die".

Geert Wilders and party are leading in Dutch polling despite his conviction on trumped up charges ~ link ~ link ~ The Globalists fight dirty!!!  However, the people of Europe are wakening up to the fact that their Globalist bought-and-paid-for political class are selling them down the river and allowing a massive invasion of military aged Muslim men into their nations!!!  Stirling

Volendam is a village of clogs, canals, cheese – and anger. A former fishing village-turned-tourist-haven north-east of Amsterdam on the Markermeer lake, it offered one of the country’s strongest turnouts for far-right populist Geert Wilders the last time the country went to the polls.

Wilders was found guilty of inciting discrimination at a rally where he called for “fewer Moroccans”. His supporters in this overwhelmingly white, conservative town see the trial and verdict as political persecution of a maverick anti-establishment champion. “We don’t like what the government does so we support him,” said Wim Keizer, curator of the Volendam museum, a small building filled with tableaux of families and fishermen in traditional dress, including a dog-drawn cart and the cabin of a North Sea fishing skiff.

New ISIS offensive on Palmyra proves that terrorists should NOT be given the chance to regroup says Russian Defense Ministry ~ link ~ Like a mad dog, ISIS needs to be 'put down' and put down HARD!!!  Stirling
Islamic State militants used a break in the US-led coalition’s advance against them to launch offensive in Palmyra, while counting on the fact that Russia will not conduct airstrikes on residential areas, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The setback shows that terrorists should not be given the opportunity to regroup.

Seizing on the suspension of active military action near Al-Raqqah till spring by the US and international coalition, Islamic State devoted considerable forces to storm Palmyra,” the ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.
