Russian warplanes strike ISIS in Syria's Aleppo ~ link ~

The sources told Syria's al-Masdar news outlet that the Syrian army, in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), conducted a powerful assault on the ISIL positions at  ‘Ayn Sabl, resulting in the capture of the Southwestern perimeter of this town that is located to the East of Tal Rayman and Al-Salihiyah. "The Russian fighter jets reportedly struck ISIL positions in East Aleppo with remarkable precision and relentless ferocity; these airstrikes also marked the first time that Russia physically participated in this four-year-long Syrian conflict," the report said.

The Russian Air Force was also seen flying above the Damascus countryside, Lattakia and Hama Governorates, on Thursday morning, but all of their jets reportedly returned back to the Hmamiyat Military Airport in the Syrian coastal city of Jableh. According to a senior officer in the Syrian army, these Russian airstrikes were coordinated with the Syrian Air Force , who launched their own raids along the Raqqa-Deir Ezzur Highway, added the report.

Trump urges the White House to support Russia fighting ISIS ~ link ~ Glad he is saying so!!!  Stirling

I have no idea why Obama would object to Russia fighting ISIS/ISIL. It makes no sense unless, as we know, Obama wants to protect them.

As we know the US meddling in the Middle East gave rise to ISIS. Since the West started it, why not let Putin finish it?

Iran's position on the Russian build-up in Syria ~ link

But then, Israel has every reason to be livid about the Russian build-up, which frustrates its entire strategy of manipulating the al-Qaeda affiliate Nusra Front to destabilize the Syrian government. Israel stands to gain if the Syrian state gets destroyed, as that would ensure the perpetuation of its illegal occupation of Golan Heights. Things were going splendidly for Israel until Russia arrived on the scene as the great ‘spoiler’.

Syrian War: Hezbollah confirms truce in two areas ~ link ~

Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said the truce would cover the town of Zabadani, near the Lebanese border, and two Shia towns in the north-east. He said the deal was reached under UN auspices and with Iranian mediation.

Hezbollah has long been fighting alongside President Assad's forces to secure the Syrian border with Lebanon.

Europe in Crisis: EU is buckling under invasion ~ link

When last we checked in on Europe’s worsening migrant crisis, Brussels had just approved a plan which aims to settle some 120,000 asylum seekers by way of a mandatory quota system. Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania were opposed which, as WSJ noted, “sets the stage for intensified friction within the bloc over the contentious issue.”

To be sure, calling the crisis a “contentious issue” is something of an understatement. The massive people flows stemming from Syria’s protracted civil war threaten to tear the EU apart just months after fraught negotiations with Greece over the country’s third bailout program very nearly ended in the conclusive debunking of the euro indissolubility thesis.

One of Europe's largest mosques is on fire with 70 firefighters battling the fire in south London ~ link

The Baitul Futuh Mosque in London has caught fire. Half of its ground floor and first floor are in flames. Seventy firefighters and 10 fire engines are reported to be tackling the blaze.
A fire has broken out at the mosque located in London Road in Morden, in the south of the British capital, a London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said on Saturday, according to local media.

October 1962: Vasili Arkhipov Saved The World and prevented WWIII ~ link ~ Good One!  In light of the real dangers we are all in today, take a minute to read this one at the link.  Stirling

This PR Pope was picked to Save the Vatican - NOT to Save the World ~ link

For many decades, the catholic church has been struggling with a tarnished image, due to their draconian policies, outdated rules and the widening child molestation scandals involving large numbers of catholic priests. The Vatican lost even more credibility after the selection of the previous pope, who looked like a vampire and was literally a card holding member of Hitler’s youth organization when he was young.

These and many other factors have led to a rapid decline in membership for the catholic church in recent years. So when it was time to pick a new pope, a more media-friendly pope was considered, one that would help the church to sway the newer and younger generation back into their favor. Of course, nothing has really changed about the catholic church or the Vatican over the past few years, aside from the fact that they have been using more cheery and populous driven rhetoric to promote their organization.

During his highly publicized speech to congress this week, the pope continued to support their policies while paying lip service to helping the poor and stopping the violence in the world. However, the Vatican is one of the richest organization on the face of the earth, and could surely eradicate poverty if they actually chose to. Instead, the pope is spending his time giving praise to the politicians who are causing the problems, while taking photo opportunities with a few homeless people.

Pope Francis: Please stop talking politics ~ link

To view illegal immigrants as people, and to listen to their stories, as Pope Francis admonishes us to do, is irrelevant in the face of the actual problem we face. Obviously they’re people, and they certainly have stories. No one is discounting the fact that many illegal immigrants are good people. But that’s not the point. At all.

The point of contention with regard to the abundance of illegal immigrants in the United States is that their illegal presence is a drain on our economy, on our social safety nets, on our medical facilities, and on our law enforcement. Not to mention they broke the laws of our nation simply by coming here. To say these things does not show a lack of compassion for illegal immigrants as human beings, rather, it shows an understanding of how a nation survives.

Goldman Sachs strikes again: How a probe into 'Global Warming' Fraud cost the Australian Prime Minister his job ~ linkInteresting, do take a minute or two to read this one at the link.  Stirling

Perhaps the recent probe into the "statistics and data" behind the Australian Bureau of Meteorology were the straw that broke the camel's back: clearly Abbott was not going to be appeased and would continue his probes and audits into the "conventional wisdom" behind global warming, a persistence which threatened one firm more than any other.
Goldman Sachs.
While we hardly have to remind readers that it is Goldman that conceived of the carbon-credit market, and was behind cap and trade, here is an (in)convenient summary of who the true puppetmaster is behind the worldwide infatuation with stopping "global warming", and who stands to benefit the most as the world is manipulated into doing everything to kill global warming dead in its tracks

How to Hedge Against the Coming Money Paradrop ~ link ~

James Grant, Wall Street expert and editor of the investment journal Grant’s Interest Rate Observer, warns of ever more extreme central bank policies and bets on the comeback of gold.

The global financial markets are under severe stress. The postponed interest rate hike in the United States, the fast cooldown of the Chinese economy and the crash in the commodity complex are causing a great amount of unease among investors. Fear is growing that the world slips into recession. "Central bank policy is intended to paper over the cracks in the systems. Seven years after the outbreak of the financial crisis we’re paying for this with a lack of growth", says James Grant. The sharp thinking editor of the iconic Wall Street newsletter Grant’s Interest Rate Observer draws worrisome parallels between the command based central planning of the Chinese economy and the economic policies in the West. He also doubts that Fed Chair Janet Yellen is the right fit for the top job at the world’s most powerful central bank. Looking for protection he points to gold and shares of gold miners.
