On the Road to the Third World War

Armageddon also means that the Second Coming of Christ is near

There are several flashpoints this weekend that could 'go bad', but maybe not.  Still not a good sign.
US places armed forces in South Korea on enhanced status as WAR LOOMS ~ link ~ Also see ~ link ~ and link ~
The United States has put its forces in South Korea on a heightened state of alert – known as “enhanced status” – as war between Seoul and Pyongyang looms.
On Friday, North Korea warned its southern neighbor to halt the "provocations" and its propaganda broadcasts against Pyongyang by Saturday afternoon or pay the price.

"If South Korea does not respond to our ultimatum," North Korea’s deputy UN ambassador, An Myong-hun, told reporters in New York, "our military counteraction will be inevitable and that counteraction will be very strong."

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey and his South Korean counterpart Adm. Choi Yoon-hee have agreed to respond to any further provocations by North Korea with counterattacks, the Yonhap News Agency reports.

Israeli fighter jet shot down over Syria ~ link

The Syrian air defense shot down an Israeli warplane violating the Arab country's air space, an Iranian news agency reported.

The Israeli fighter jet was targeted over the city of Al-Quneitra on Friday, Iran’s Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

On Friday, the Israeli Air Force resumed airstrikes on Western Syria, targeting a government army base at Khan Al-Sheih in Damascus province and another in the al-Quneitra province after a six-hour halt in attacks that followed their multiple air raids over the Golan Heights.

Despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisting Israel doesn’t intend to “ratchet up” strikes against Syria, his nation continued to attack targets inside Syria today, killing at least six people and wounding seven others in airstrikes

An All-Out WAR on Russia's Doorstep NEARS ~ link

DPR Intelligence has released a plan of Kiev to break the Minsk agreements and start a full-scale military operation in Donbass. After artillery preparation fire against positions of the DPR Armed Forces, Kiev military will start an offensive from the Mariupol and Debaltsevo sectors in the direction of the Uspenka settlement to take control of the border with Russia and prevent locals’ from fleeing to Russia

At the very same moment, Kiev forces will advance in the direction of Ilovaisk to encircle Donetsk from the South and North.
In the Lugansk direction, pro-Kiev militants are planning to exercise separate military actions against LPR Armed Forces. The aims are to move to block the border with Russia and exclude capacity of LPR military to provide support in the DPR battle ground. Kiev strategists hope to defeat the defenders of Donbass and to destroy people’s republics on account of these actions.

Porky claims Minsk Agreement allows the Coup Junta's massive military buildup on border ~ link ~ This is tied in to what is happening in the Middle East, and has always been so tied in.  Stirling

Ukraine has upgraded its army during the ceasefire with the rebels, Ukraine’s president said addressing his troops. The rebels suspect that Kiev is planning a widescale offensive operation
Petro Poroshenko delivered his belligerent speech in the Kharkov region, rejecting criticism of the ceasefire deal with rebel forces in the east, brokered in Minsk by Germany, France and Russia in February.
“The Minsk agreement despite all criticism has given us time to build up Ukraine’s defense. It allowed us to partially bridge the gap in military capacity we have against Russia,” Ukraine’s leader said. “The times of airheaded pacifism and shortsighted rejection of security issues are forever in the past now.”

Unless there is a Huge War in the Koreas how will the US and China explain the collapse of their stock markets on Monday ~ link

That is why something has to happen in Korea this weekend.

Things have been brewing for a while, remember when the New York stock exchange shut down for 4 hours one day after China melted down the night before?
They said it was a technical glitch, but wall street on parade said it was because several Chinese companies were being traded on the exchange but were under review by the SEC. I think a few of them weren’t even supposed to be traded at all, black listed, and yet their stock was selling. They shut that story up quick.

Making sense of the Sudden Stock Market Plunges ~ link

The global deflationary wave we have been tracking since last fall is picking up steam.  This is the natural and unavoidable aftereffect of a global liquidity bubble brought to you courtesy of the world’s main central banks.  What goes up must come down - and that's especially true for the world's many poorly-constructed financial bubbles, built out of nothing more than gauzy narratives and inflated with hopium.

What this means is that the traditional summer lull in financial markets has turned August into an unusually active and interesting month. August, it appears, is the new October. Markets are quite possibly in crash mode right now, although events are unfolding so quickly – currency spikes, equity sell offs, emerging market routs and dislocations, and commodity declines -  that it’s hard to tell for sure.  However, that’s usually the case right before and during big market declines.

Before you read any further, you probably should be made aware that, at Peak Prosperity, our market outlook has been one of extreme caution for several years.  We never bought into so-called "recovery" because much of it was purely statistical in nature, and had to rely on heavily distorted and tortured 'statistics' to be believed.  Okay, lies is probably a more accurate term in many cases.
