Saudi propaganda portrays the Middle East as caught up in a great Muslim struggle, with a Shiite Crescent led by Iran seeking to swallow up the Sunni states.
Royal Saudi Air Force increases airstrikes nationwide against Yemen - 20 or more on Thursday ~ link ~
Beginning their strikes at the start of the month, Saudi warplanes have killed over 1,000 people in Yemen, including hundreds of civilians. This is only part of the humanitarian disaster the war is causing, however.
Perhaps the bigger calamity in the long run will be the Saudi-led naval blockade of Yemen, as the nation imports over 90% of its food, almost entirely by sea. Though they aren’t formally banning food shipments from entering the country in theory, in practice they’ve virtually halted such shipments, keeping cargo ships stranded off coast for weeks on end awaiting interminable searches.

An Iranian official has reprimanded Saudi Arabia for refusing to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people who sustained injuries during the kingdom's airstrikes on its impoverished neighbor.
“Saudi Arabia does not help with efforts to deliver humanitarian aid and transfer of injured Yemenis for treatment,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a telephone conversation with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer on Friday. Amir-Abdollahian called on the international community to take stronger action to dispatch humanitarian aid to Yemen, given the deteriorating human situation in the impoverished Arab country.

The Saudi fighter jets prevented the Iranian plane, which was carrying medical aid, from entering Yemeni air space, the Fars news agency reported on Friday, citing Lebanon’s al-Manar TV.
Deputy for International Law and Humanitarian Affairs at Iran’s Red Crescent Society Mohammad Shahabbudin Mohammadi Araqi had said earlier that Saudi Arabia was not allowing humanitarian aid into Yemen.
Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to restore power to the country’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

No homes rebuilt in Gaza after the 2014 Israeli War on Gaza ~ link ~
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) says no house has been reconstructed in the besieged Gaza Strip eight months after the end of the Israeli regime’s latest war on the blockaded area.
“Not a single home has been rebuilt” in the besieged Gaza Strip since the end of the Israeli military’s devastating offensive against the territory in the summer of 2014, said UNRWA spokesperson Chris Gunness on Thursday.
The Israeli regime started its latest war on Gaza in early July last year. The offensive ended on August 26 with a truce that took effect after indirect negotiations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
“To date, 9,161 Palestine refugee houses have been considered totally destroyed and 5,066 have suffered severe, 4,085 major and 124,782 minor damages,” Gunness added.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government. — Article IV, Section 4, US ConstitutionA republican form of government is one in which power resides in elected officials representing the citizens, and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law.
InThe Federalist Papers, James Madison defined a republic as “a government which derives all its powers directly or indirectly from the great body of the people . . . .”
On April 22, 2015, the Senate Finance Committee approved a bill to fast-track the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a massive trade agreement that would override our republican form of government and hand judicial and legislative authority to a foreign three-person panel of corporate lawyers.
