On the Road to the Third World War.

Armageddon also means that the Second Coming of Christ is near.

Germany approves Greek bailout in Parliament vote ~ link ~ I suspect that this will work itself out mostly in the Greek people's favor.  Their new government, despite the negative comments by many, will not allow the Austerity Fascism to continue.  There are a host of things that should be corrected in Greece and I suspect that the new government will make real improvements in cleaning up corruption and in improving tax collection (a big issue in a nation that seems to have a strong anti-tax attitude).  The new Greek Government can crash the Euro and the European Union and I suspect that when all is said and done, most of the debt will end up being written off, but in a way that does NOT set off a fall of "dominoes".  Stirling
US Congress passes funding bill for Department of Homeland Security ~ link ~
The US Congress has approved a short-term spending bill for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), averting a partial shutdown of the agency hours before it was slated to begin.

The Senate voted 68-31 on Friday to approve the funding legislation without the contentious immigration provisions. In the House of Representatives, the bill was approved easily by a vote of 240-183.

The bill leaves intact President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration that Republicans have vowed to overturn.

Australian metadata bill: Internet and phone storage for two years ~ link ~ All this spying on the average citizen "to keep us safe from terrorism" is pure bullshit.  It is all about fascism!!!  Shameful to the max!!!  Stirling

China supports Russia in the Ukraine Conflict  ~ link ~ Before the First and Second World Wars, there was a formation of alliances organized.  This is being repeated.   Stirling
Western nations should heed Russia's legitimate security concerns over the volatile situation in Ukraine, a top Chinese diplomat has said in a rare public statement on the crisis that has damaged relations between Russia and the West.

Qu Xing, China's ambassador to Belgium, said the Ukrainian crisis came about due to the ongoing “game”– a metaphor similar to that used by US geopolitical strategist Zbigniew Brzezinski, who referred to it as the “grand chessboard” – between Russia and the West, which has not abated despite, or because of, the collapse of the Soviet Union.

One hundred years to repair Gaza Strip: Oxfam says blockade remains and aid is almost non-existent  ~ link

Reconstructing Gaza could take an entire century, if Israel doesn’t stop the siege, leading charity Oxfam warned. And that’s just the time frame for essential projects. The NGO’s regional director calls the situation “deplorable.”

A statement was issued by the group on Thursday, six months after the latest conflict, which saw Israel roll out Operation Protective Edge. That brought about eight weeks of bombardment, followed by a devastating ground assault.

Biggest airplane in history begins construction - Will launch rockets into space ~ link

The world has received its first glimpse of a gigantic airplane that will serve as an airborne launch pad for putting satellites - and eventually people - into orbit.

The aircraft, which has a wingspan of 385 feet (117 metres) and will be powered by six 747-class engines, is currently being assembled at Mojave, California.

Hyperloop: Travel across America at 760mph ~ link

Elon Musk's 'Hyperloop' was dismissed as a pipe dream that would never get off the ground.

But now the billionaire's plans to shoot capsules of passengers along a tube at around the speed of sound may launch as soon as next year.

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has secured land for the first full-scale Hyperloop with a 2016 launch in the California town of Quay Valley.

Apple is set to launch a giant iPad called the iPad Plus this year to take on the rising challenge from Microsoft's surface and Android tablets, it has been claimed.

The firm is also hoping the larger screen will help it differentiate the iPad from the big screen iPhone 6 Plus.
