Hamas rejects Gaza Ceasefire Extension - Wants Israel to accept some demands in principle ~ link ~
The 72-hour ceasefire is continuing to hold in the Gaza Strip, but whether or not it will be extended beyond the Friday deadline remains to be seen, with the armed wing of Hamas saying they oppose any such extensions without some concessions made on the final peace deal.
The statement from the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades wing urged the Palestinian delegation in Cairo not to agree to any ceasefire extensions unless Israel agreed in principle to the demand to open a Gaza seaport under UN supervision. The faction said it was ready for a “long war” and a withdrawal from the talks entirely without such a deal.

Cease-fire talks were to continue in Cairo on Thursday, as the 72-hour truce between Israel and Gaza entered its final day. Contradictory statements came from the Hamas and Israeli delegations regarding willingness to extend the truce, and Egyptian officials reported that there were considerable differences between the Israeli and Palestinian positions in the cease-fire talks.
The Egyptians warned that the talks could stalemate if both sides remained entrenched in their positions. The sources said the Israeli delegation presented its demand to demilitarize the Gaza Strip as well as Hamas and the other terror organizations. This was seen by the Palestinian delegation as a red line, they said.

China to build Nicaragua Canal ~ link ~
A month ago, a Nicaraguan committee approved Chinese billionaire Wang Jing's project to create The Nicaraguan Canal. With a planned capacity to accommodate ships with loaded displacement of 400,000 tons (notably bigger than The Panama Canal), the proposed 278-kilometer-long canal that will run across the Nicaragua isthmus would probably change the landscape of the world's maritime trade.
"The project is the largest infrastructure project ever in the history of man in terms of engineering difficulty, investment scale, workload and its global impact," Wang told reporters, adding that with regard the project's financing, which is around $50 billion, Wang seems quite confident, "If you can deliver, you will find all the world's money at your disposal."
