Ukraine coup junta's army helicopter downed near Sloviansk - 14 Dead including a general ~ link ~ Also see ~ link ~ and this ~ link
Russia has reiterated calls for Ukraine to stop its military campaign against the pro-Moscow rebels and "start a real national dialogue".
The Russian foreign ministry also urged the United States and European Union "to use all their influence on Kiev to stop Ukraine's slide into national catastrophe".
Over a 1,200 Ukrainian junta soldiers killed in total as Ukraine fighting escalates ~ link ~
While one should take locally sourced news on the volatile situation in Ukraine, reported by media that is ideologically close to the source, with a grain of salt, Russian press agency RIA has generally had a good track record in reporting news regarding the Ukraine civil war. In which case if the following report of what may have happened overnight during the latest escalation of fighting in the eastern Ukraine city of Slavyansk, and which certainly doesn't paint the Ukraine army in a favorable light, is even partially correct one can see why suddenly western media news coverage of the civil war in Ukraine has become somewhat sparse.
According to RIA, quoting Slaviansk people's mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, about 1,200 Ukrainian army soldiers have been killed during a special operation in Slaviansk, and eight helicopters and 15 armored vehicles were destroyed. Supposedly this includes the 1 helicopter whose crash was reported previously.
Lies, provocation now America's global reputation ~ link ~ Press TV: With regards to Israel helping insurgents in Syria, what is the likelihood of Israel directly engaging in a war with Syria?
Dean: They already have engaged with several of their bombings. We found out through our sources that the Syrians took out one of Israel’s stealth submarines that they caught close to shore where a helicopter-launched a homing torpedo.
And then Israel responded a couple of days later when they used a mini-nuclear weapon on the big arms depot outside of Damascus that had that huge explosion. And then they’ve had several other aerial attacks so Israel has directly engaged.

Two US administrations have used the existing Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) to justify military actions around the world.

The Great UK Political Earthquake ~ link ~ I can think of two even greater 'earthquakes' to come. The first will be when, this fall, the Scots vote to become independent. I believe that this will pass because the electorate in Scotland, as in most of the rest of the EU and North America, are fed up with the Global Depression and the fact that there is no real choice between the three main parliamentary parties...they all serve the Globalists and Zionists. When the Scots vote to leave the United Kingdom, there will effectively be no United Kingdom. Just England and a Northern Ireland (that the Irish Republic will continue to demand more of a voice in) and maybe (for a short while) the Principality of Wales (which will very likely go the way of Scotland, shortly thereafter the Scottish vote). The political effects of that, in the remaining "UK", plus the discuss that the English/Welsh and Northern Irish voters feel for the traditional big three parliamentary parties, is likely to place the UKIP party in power with Nigel Farage as the new Prime Minister in 2015! Stirling
We started the week with a three-party political system. As predicted on this website, with the emergence of UKIP as a credible political force, we now have a four-party system.
All three of the old political leaders are now in trouble. David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband are facing calls to resign.
Obama's West Point Speech signals a Presidency in Deep Trouble ~ link ~
Yesterday’s speech to the graduating class of West Point by President Obama may be remembered as the signal that his presidency has entered a crisis of confidence, much as Jimmy Carter’s infamous “malaise” speech has gone down in history as marking a failed presidency. Not only was the content of the speech delusional (calling Russia “isolated” in the wake of a massive and historic gas deal with China that marks a major rapprochement between two powers hostile to the United States; claiming Ukraine as an example of the success of his coalition strategy), the delivery was wooden, as if Obama were wishing he were on a golf course or basketball court, and felt a hostile vibe. And the visible reception was embarrassingly icy, with
only a few people applauding at key lines, and a standing ovation in which the vast majority remained seated and unmoved, suggesting the commander in chief is held in contempt by the next generation of military leadership.
Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan sign 'epoch' Eurasian Economic Union ~ link ~
Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan signed the historic Eurasian Economic Union which will come into effect in January 2015. Cutting down trade barriers and comprising over 170 million people it will be the largest common market in the ex-Soviet sphere.
"The just-signed treaty is of epoch-making, historic importance," Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
The troika of countries will cooperate in energy, industry, agriculture, and transport."In fact, we are shaping the largest common market in the CIS, with huge production, scientific and technological potential and enormous natural resources," the President added.
Bad Trend Breaking: Why retail results are not better than expected, but worse than ever ~ link ~
The ultimate evil of monetary central planning is that it drastically distorts pricing signals in capital markets, thereby inducing vast malinvestments in the real economy—-mistakes that eventually result in uneconomic returns and losses which must be someday written off. Accordingly, what is recorded as a boost to GDP by our Keynesian policy overlords in the front-end of the malinvesment cycle results in a reduction of national wealth when it’s all said and done.
Needless to say, if central bank induced financial repression is carried on long enough the level of capital market deformation and main street malinvestment can become monumental. In fact, there are four bell-ringer statistics among the macro-economic data that dramatize perhaps the greatest of these central bank induced investment errors, but they are never published in the main street financial press—–probably because they explain far too much in one glance...
When the aggregate level of shopping space is looked at during the above longer-term time frame, the aberration is even more apparent. At the time of the S&L fiasco around 1990 there were only about 5 billion square feet of shopping space in the nation—meaning that capacity tripled during the subsequent a quarter century. Yet this was a period when the real incomes of the middle class were essentially dead in the water. So what market signals could have possibly given rise to such a disconnect?
USA gold holdings are close to Zero ~ link ~
Financial analyst Rob Kirby is an expert on forensic macroeconomics. His research shows central bankers are starting to not trust each other. Kirby cites Austria’s recent demand to audit its gold held in London. Kirby explains, “. . . Austria seems to have a reason to want to go and see it and inspect it and know that it is real and see it hasn’t been sold and nothing untoward has been done to it.” Austria joins a list of countries, such as Germany, concerned about its gold holdings. Kirby contends, “We are seeing cracks in the trust that, five years ago, there was no questioning the ownership or custody of sovereign metals stored at the Bank of England or the U.S. Federal Reserve; and, now, we’re seeing countries are questioning and want reassurances. There’s been a breakdown in trust (between central banks). . . . This is now a distinct pattern, and I expect it will accelerate as time goes on.”
What happens if Austria is not granted access to its gold by the Bank of England? Kirby speculates, “I would say there could be some piling on. There could be some other countries that could be concerned about the state of their reserves. Kirby goes on to point out, “Countries around the world with foreign reserve accounts where they hold vast amounts of U.S. dollars, all it’s going to take is for one of them to get really spooked . . . and bolting for the door is for countries with these massive foreign reserves is to start madly buying gold. At some point, countries, if they feel their gold has been compromised, they might want to replace it in a hurry. . . . All the countries holding vast amounts of U.S dollars in their reserve accounts . . . think many of them think those dollars, in the end, are not going to be worth anything. That raises the inclination for one of them to spend them or use them before they lose them or they become worthless. I think there is a growing propensity for someone somewhere to do this.”
UK's squeezed Middle Class to have even harder time ~ link ~
David Boyle, a fellow at the New Economics Foundation think-tank, issued his stark warning as he predicted that rising property prices would effectively render the middle classes extinct as the dream of home ownership becomes ever more distant.
This group of Britons, which politicians have dubbed the "squeezed middle", would need to take three or four jobs just to make ends meet and no longer have time for cultural activities, according to Boyle.

The Great Deception in the American Church ~ link ~
Consider these statistics of Christianity in America: Eighty-four percent of the inhabitants of this nation say they believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, according to Barna Group, and 45 percent claim to be born-again Christians. Other studies show it is closer to 33 percent.
Either way, these numbers are high. Seventy-seven percent believe their chances of going to heaven are excellent. Thirty-three percent believe one day everyone will go to heaven. Yet America has the highest percentage of single-parent families in the industrialized world, the highest abortion rate, the highest rate of sexually transmitted diseases, the highest rate of teenage birth by far, the highest rate of teenage drug use and the largest prison population per capita than any country in the world.
Consider also the great moral decline of the last generation (50 to 60 years) and these telling statistics in America. The divorce rate has doubled, teen suicide has tripled, reported violent crime has quadrupled, the prison population has quintupled, the percentage of babies born out of wedlock has risen sixfold, couples living together out of wedlock have increased sevenfold, and gay marriage is now a legalized reality in a number of states, with many believing the end is not in sight.
The Saudi death toll from MERS rises to 186 ~ link ~
Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry says 13 people have died over the last two weeks from the Middle Eastern respiratory virus.
After a downturn in Ebola virus disease (EVD) over the past few weeks, new cases were recently detected in Telimele prefecture, just east of Guinea's capital, Conakry. The outbreak began in the middle of March in the country's southeastern forested region and spread to the capital on the western coast, where several health workers were infected after treating hospitalized patients.
