Just a word of thanks for all the nice comments that readers have sent on my recent health scare. I went to Terre Hault, Indiana this last Saturday afternoon for the ordination to the Orthodox Subdeaconate of two friends from my parish. During the drive up there and back, I had a scratchy throat and some coughing. Saturday night, back at home, i had trouble breathing. By Sunday evening it was getting worse and I went to the Emergency Room and was there for five hours of treatment for Bronchospasm and Atypical Pneumonia. I believe that I actually had this nasty flu that is going around but as I use a number of herbs and preventive health products, I did not get the "full blast" just a upper sinus infection that caused broncho pneumonia or atypical (or walking) pneumonia. I am still sick but with the help of lots of medicine, both prescription and herbal and vitamins, I am doing better. It is a scary thing to not be able to breath...cuts through the crap and gets you close to God. Again, thanks for the prayers and positive comments.

Two 'Popes' in Rome? ~ link ~ Rome was today rocked by claims that the shock resignation of Benedict XVI could lead to a cataclysmic schism, with believers divided between the new pope and his successor. As
the outgoing Pontiff declared he would make himself available to help
if asked, the Church was struggling to navigate his unprecedented
retirement, a decision which could effectively result in two popes
residing in the Vatican simultaneously.
There were also fears that the 85-year-old could continue to exert excessive influence through his writing. This,
however, was downplayed by the Vatican today which said Benedict would
step aside completely from any role in running the Church. His family
also claims he wants to spend his remaining time in peaceful
contemplation.

It has become a hobby, a reflex for a lot of people around the world to bash the Pope, to hit the Christian religion, to humiliate Catholics and to souse sewage on people who believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
As a Christian you/one can choose:
- you can join the bashing, ignore it
or
- you can oppose the attacks and defend our religion.
If we don't stand up and fight, we will be lost. We will be nothing but a faint picture of misery in history.
The Muslims, the Jews, the Hindus and all the other religions will prevail.
Do we want to be a pile of misery in history or do we want to be proud Christians, who defend their religion and their representatives?
It is not too late, but we have to change course.
Christians all over the world, especially in Europe, should not leave our "Church", no, they should support their religion every day, whenever they meet faithless or irreligious humans.
This is the only way to survive, or the Christians will end up in forced labour camps, to say it in a friendly way.
