Israel fires Tamuz missile into Syria ~ linkAlso see: Israel unveils secret Tamuz missile - video ~ link ~ Also see: Meet the IDF's Tammuz missile - video ~ link ~ Israel’s deteriorating security situation erupted simultaneously on two fronts Sunday, Nov. 11. The IDF fired a Tamuz precision guided missile against a mortar position 4 kilometers inside Syria after a stray mortar hit the IDF Golan defense post at Tel Hazaka. It was the fourth incident of cross-border violence from the Syrian conflict in 10 days and the first time Israel had fired across the Golan border since the 1973 war. The Tamuz was developed by RAFAEL and is operated from specially modified M-113 Hafiz armored personnel carriers.

At the same time, on the southern front, Palestinians fired Grad missiles from Gaza at the city of Beersheba after loosing a barrage of 60 missiles in less than 24 hours against multiple Israeli civilian locations. Iron Dome intercepted one of the missiles.

Israel launches a missile into Syrian territory for the first time in 39 years ~ link ~ Actually, if you are Syria, or for that matter its allies Iran and Hezbollah, you know your time is short, before Netanyahu and the globalists launch their General Middle East War against you.  If you take the initiative and get the hated Israelis directly involved in attacking you and the mostly unarmed civilians in Gaza, and even get the trigger happy Israelis to launch another horrific and brutal Operation Cast Lead, you just might inflame the Arab streets against the common old and hated enemy, Israel.  You might even get one or more GCC military establishments to turn on their spoiled royal leaders in a coup or coups and turn their military machines against "the Jews" and NATO or at least muddle things up a great deal.  This might not be such a bad strategic initiative considering the circumstances.   Stirling

Last week, when we reported that Syria has decided to enter the Golan Heights DMZ, and "provoke" yet another pro-Western stalwart, Israel, we said: "Syria can't wait to start a war, hopefully one which also involves Iran, and provokes the punishment of NATO and the west." We said this because when it comes to what the "fair and objective" media has deemed rogue states, the theory of rational actors no longer applies. Such is the case now in Syria, whose regime is not only involved in a bloody civil war (whose one-sided accounts we get each and every day), but it recently did everything in its power to start a war with Turkey (which failed after it became clear time and again that this was nothing but one huge false flag provocation) and thus provoke NATO's fury which would naturally wipe Syria off the map with the UN's blessing, and start a broader Middle Eastern conflict which certainly would not end there, but has also escalated to Israel just to be certain it gets promptly retaliated against. Today, we learn that Syria has finally gotten what it so urgently desired, after Israel, for the first time since the 1973 war "returned fire on Syrian military forces after Syrian shells exploded in Israeli territory."

Naturally, this escalation to Syrian "provocations" was inevitable: a crippled regime doesn't do everything in its power to provoke terminal retaliation by the West without getting what it so desperately needs... Just in case comparable provocations by Iran fail to yield the desired results.

Israel fires 'warning shot' at Syria over Golan Heights mortar strike ~ link ~ The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said the missile was fired as a warning shot after an errant mortar fired from Syria hit the military post.

"In the midst of Syrian infighting, a mortar shell fired by the Syrian army struck near an outpost at Tel Hazeka," The Jerusalem post quoted IDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai as saying. "In light of the policy instituted by IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, a warning round was fired back into Syria. We don't believe it caused injuries or damages," he said. The IDF fired a single Tamuz anti-tank missile, a weapon known for its high degree of accuracy, military sources told AFP.

Israel drawn into Syria fighting for first time ~ link ~ Israel was drawn into the Syrian civil war for the first time on Sunday, firing warning shots into the neighboring country after a stray mortar shell fired from Syrian territory hit an Israeli military post.

Israel fires warning shot at Syria over Golan shelling ~ link Israeli forces fired into Syria on Sunday in what the military called a warning, after stray munitions from fighting between Syrian troops and rebels hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The incident, described by Israel Radio as the first direct engagement of the Syrian military on the Golan since the countries' 1973 war, highlighted international fears that Syria's civil war could ignite wider regional conflict.

Israel drawn into Syrian fighting ~ link The Israeli military said the mortar fire caused no injuries or damage at the post in the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war and then annexed. But in recent weeks, incidents of errant fire from Syria to the north have multiplied, leading Israel to warn that it holds Syria responsible for fire on Israeli-held territory.

"A short while ago, a mortar shell targeted an IDF (Israel Defense Forces) post in the Golan Heights," said army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich. "We answered with a warning shot toward Syrian areas. We understand this was a mistake and was not meant to target Israel and then that is why we fired a warning shot in retaliation."

Israel fires warning shots into Syria - with video ~ link ~ The two countries are formally at war and a UN force patrols the buffer zone.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was "closely monitoring what is happening on our border with Syria and there too we are ready for any development".

IDF fires warning shot into Syria ~ link Israel says further attacks from Syria will "elicit a vigorous response" from IDF, sends letter to UN warning Syrians to avoid spillover; Incident marks first time IDF has fired at Syria since 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Israel fires warning shots 'after Syrian mortar strike' ~ link ~ Israeli forces say they have fired warning shots into Syria after a mortar round fired from Syria hit an Israeli post in the Golan Heights.

The latest incident comes days after Israeli troops were put on high alert after a vehicle was hit by Syrian fire in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Mideast nuke talks called off after Israel declines to attend ~ link Attempts to find Arab-Israeli common ground on banning weapons of mass destruction from the Mideast have failed, and high-profile talks on the issue have been called off, diplomats said Saturday.

The two diplomats said the United States, one of the organizers, would likely make a formal announcement soon saying that with tensions in the region remaining high, “time is not opportune” for such a gathering. The diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to divulge the cancellation ahead of the formal announcement.

Analyst: Syria without Assad will turn into Salafis terror hub ~ link ~ A political analyst warns that if the Salafi-Jihadists fighting the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad take control of Syria, the Arab country will turn into a “breeding ground” for terrorism in the region.

“Syria without [Bashar] Assad would mean a country in the hands of the Salafi-Jihadists who will undoubtedly turn the country into a graveyard for the Alawites and the moderate Sunnis and a breeding ground for terrorism and extremism in the region,” Iranian academic Dr. Ismail Salami wrote in an article published on Press TV's website.

“The fact is that the al-Qaeda-affiliated Salafi-Jihadists have already swarmed into the country and are already fighting against Bashar Assad’s government,” he added.

Referring to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri’s call on his followers to fight against Assad last February, Salami said, “The grand plan is to turn Syria into a safe haven for the Salafis.”

In a two-hour video released on Jihadists websites in October, Zawahiri repeated his call and said, “I incite Muslims everywhere, especially in the countries that are contiguous to Syria, to rise up to support their brothers in Syria with all what they can and not to spare anything that they can offer.”

The analyst said videos of Salafi-Jihadists beheading Syrian troops and civilians in cold blood have caused outrage among humanitarian organizations which have condemned the attacks as “war crimes.”

“This shocking footage depicts a potential war crime in progress, and demonstrates an utter disregard for international humanitarian law by the armed group in question,” Amnesty International said.

Salami added that the Middle East region is being “systematically and consciously devoured by an act of extremism funded and promoted by Washington and some Arab regimes.

Analyst: Hollywoodism greared up to incite Iranophobia ~ link ~ The recent Hollywood movie Argo once again unmasks the US’ elaborate scheme to employ every medium in its propaganda apparatus to incite Iranophobia across the globe, a senior political analyst says.

Argo is an arrant instance of Hollywoodism. In point of fact, it is yet another attempt to foment Iranophobia not only in the USA but across the world as well,” Iranian author and Middle East expert Dr. Ismail Salami wrote on Press TV website in a recent article.

The thriller, ironically filmed in Israel, has been directed by US filmmaker Ben Affleck. It is based loosely on the historical account by a former CIA agent Tony Mendez about the rescue of six American diplomats during the takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran after Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

On November 4, 1979, a group of revolutionary Iranian university students took over the US Embassy which they believed had turned into a den of espionage which aimed to overthrow the nascent Islamic Republic establishment.

“In recent years, Iranophobia has come to encompass a wider scope of media including cinema which is incontestably capable of exercising a more powerful effect on manipulating the audience,” the article said.

Four Palestinians killed, 25 injured in Israeli attack on Gaza ~ link ~ At least four Palestinians have been killed and 25 others have been injured by Israeli fire after clashes erupted along the Gaza border.

Israeli artillery targeted the Palestinians in the besieged territory on Saturday. Most of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

Witnesses say Palestinian resistance groups also fired a rocket at an Israeli jeep that exploded on the edge of the border, critically injuring four Israeli soldiers.

Another five Palestinians were also wounded near Khan Yunis in southern GAZA.

The Israeli military carries out ground incursions and airstrikes against Gaza on an almost regular basis. Tel Aviv claims the attacks are conducted for defensive purposes.

However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.

In addition to attacks on the Gaza Strip, Israel denies about 1.7 million people in the besieged Palestinian territory their basic rights, including the freedom of movement and the right to education and the right to decent living, work, and health conditions.

Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, which is a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

Britain could intervene in Syria within months says top UK general ~ link ~The UK’s most senior general said on a BBC interview Sunday that Britain had in place contingency plans for a “very limited” response in the case of a worsening humanitarian situation in Syria within the next few months. The admission from Chief of the Defense Staff General Sir David Richards is the most serious warning yet that Britain is preparing for some kind of military involvement in Syria. It seems that British policy has now shifted from trying to support and organize the disparate rebel groups to considering full-blown military action.“The situation this winter I think may deteriorate and may well provoke calls to intervene in a limited way,” General Richards told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show.

IAEA chief: Iran nuclear energy program peaceful ~ link ~ Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano says Iran’s nuclear energy facilities are used for peaceful purposes.

In an interview with the Russian daily Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Sunday, Amano confirmed that a large number of nuclear energy facilities in Iran are under IAEA supervision and are used for peaceful purposes.
The UN nuclear chief noted that many high-level IAEA missions have visited Iran’s nuclear energy facilities so far and the agency’s reports do not say that Iran has nuclear weapons.

The IAEA will hold a new round of talks with Iran on the country’s nuclear energy program on December 13, 2012.

The last round of negotiations between Iran and the IAEA was held in the Austrian capital of Vienna on August 24, 2012.

Iran and the IAEA had also held talks in Vienna on May 14 and 15. Before that session, the two sides' representatives had held two rounds of talks in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in February and January.

Senior Iranian commander warns of stronger reaction to US drones ~ linkBrigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh, commander of the Aerospace Division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said on Sunday that the mission of the US drone repelled by the Iranian forces last week was to gather oil and economic intelligence around the Kharg Island in southern Iran.
“According to the information we have, the mission of the drone was to gather intelligence and, in another sense, espionage,” Hajizadeh added.

The commander noted that the drone was also gathering information on oil tankers’ traffic in the area, but Iranian fighter jets showed timely reaction.

“The Islamic Republic has red lines that the Americans should understand and if such actions are repeated, they will be definitely dealt with,” he added.

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Friday that the Iranian military has repelled an unidentified aircraft that had entered the country’s airspace “above the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic in the Persian Gulf.”

The comments followed the Pentagon's claims that two Iranian warplanes had fired at a US drone last week as it conducted a routine, but classified surveillance mission over the Persian Gulf about 16 nautical miles off the Iranian coast.

Rocket hits house in Sderot, damage reported, but no casualties; IDF responds to rocket barrage with nine separate air strikes on Gaza, five Palestinians killed in the strikes.

Netanyahu wants to prepare international public opinion for Gaza operation ~ link ~ I believe that dear old Bibi 666 Netanyahu intends to "campaign" for re-election by fighting the mostly defenseless civilians in Gaza.  Another very bloody attack on the trapped civilian men, women and children of occupied Gaza.   Stirling

Netanyahu has sustained harsh criticism due to continued rocket fire at Israel's south, but he understands he doesn’t have the international legitimacy to carry out an operation against Hamas at the moment.

Likud ministers have been competing since Sunday morning over who will threaten Hamas with harsher words, but it does not seem as though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is jumping at the chance to launch an operation in Gaza. A source in the Prime Minister's Office said Sunday in a press briefing that Netanyahu is conducting hasbara - efforts to explain and justify Israel's policies to the rest of the world –...

Rockets "pound" south ~ link ~ Around 7:30 pm, a rocket fired from Gaza hit a house in Sderot. No injuries were reported but one woman suffered shock.

Another rocket hit a building in one of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council's communities. Several hours later, four rockets hit Netivot and the Bnei Shimon Regional Council. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.

Netanyahu on rocket fire: We won't set idly by ~ link "The IDF is operating and will operate in Gaza," Netanyahu said. "The terror organizations are taking tough blows from the IDF and Israel won't sit idly by. We are ready to step up our response."

Gaza fighters time their rockets to kill children ~ link ~ So far almost all the children killed have been Palestinian.  However, this needs to stop NOW.   Stirling

Many of the rockets fired Sunday were timed for the end of the school day, in order to try and kill or maim children. More than 100 rockets were fired during the day.

A Be'er Sheva resident named Barbara told Arutz Sheva: "They timed the attack at just the time all the kids got out of school...mine too!!  First time I was ever close to hysterical was today."

Analysis: Jerusalem stabbing, road terror, herald Third Intifada? ~ link As mortar fire accidentally “spills over” into the Golan Heights from the Syrian civil war, and Gaza terrorists attack southern Israel with rocket and mortar fire, Palestinian Authority Arabs in central Israel move ahead with road terror operations. As terror attacks against Israelis intensify both in frequency, as well as variety, ferocity and geographical spread, it is worth considering whether the phenomenon heralds the possible advent of a third intifada, as many military analysts have warned.

This, on the eve of a declaration by Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he will make a second attempt via the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to gain observer status -- just one step removed from full membership status -- at the United Nations General Assembly.

Israeli Cabinet Minister: Prepare for Large Scale Gaza Op ~ link Minister of Water and Infrastructure, Uzi Landau (Yisrael Beytenu), said Sunday that the IDF needs to prepare a ground assault into Gaza, and to begin targeting the heads of Hamas.

"We must not just go after those firing at Israel, but the true sources of the fire," Landau said, and explained that he was referring to Hamas's leaders, who control Gaza.

Barak: Israel will not hesitate to launch Gaza operation ~ link ~ One possibility is that Hezbollah and Hamas have decided, along with their allies Syria and Iran, to take the strategic initiative and are baiting Israel to attack the Arabs in another bloody Operation Cast Lead, that will kill large numbers of unarmed civilian men, women and children and denude the GCC states of support from the Arab masses for any war against Iran/Syria/Lebanon.  This could result in military coups in one to several GCC states and a real military mess for Israel and NATO.   Stirling

Defense minister responds to over 85 rockets, mortars launched by Gazan terrorists in past 24 hours; IAF retaliatory strikes kill 6 Palestinians; reports emerge of Egyptian mediated ceasefire between Israel, Hamas.

Israel will not hesitate to launch a ground operation into Gaza to secure the Hamas-ruled Strip, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Sunday evening.

Syrian clashes kill 90 - Assad tells Japan to cancel meeting ~ link At least 90 people were killed in Syria yesterday while President Bashar al-Assad’s regime told Japan to cancel its plan to meet with other nations about further sanctions against his country.

Other raids took place in the cities of Homs and Hama, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in an e-mail.
