Turkey bans all Syrian flights over its territory ~ link Syrian planes have been banned from Turkish air space, the Turkish foreign ministry has announced. The ban follows similar restrictions imposed by Syria, after a Syrian plane alleged to be carrying Russian munitions was intercepted by Turkey.

Turkey's ban came in on Saturday night and was communicated to Syria, but was only made public on Sunday.

Turkey closes airspace to Syrian civilian flights after similar moves by Damascus ~ link ~ Moscow harshly criticized Turkey for endangering the lives of the flight’s passengers by using F-16 fighter jets to force the plane to land, and demanded to know why Russian diplomats and doctors were not allowed to meet the 17 Russian nationals on board.

On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the plane was carrying legal radar parts, not munitions.  "We have no secrets," Lavrov told reporters. "There were, of course, no weapons on the plane and could not have been any. There was cargo on the plane that a legal Russian supplier was sending in a legal way to a legal customer."

Are Syria and Turkey Close to War? ~ link ~ YES!

David Blair of The Daily Telegraph appears to agree, writing: “Turkey and Syria are close to war”. Blair is in southern Turkey, near the frontier with Syria, and he says it “feels like the new front line of the battle against Bashar al-Assad’s regime”.

If there is a repeat of last week’s accidental killing of a Turkish family by a stray Syrian mortar shell, he says, “I would not be surprised if Turkey retaliated with a strike by troops as well as artillery, possibly accompanied with air power”.

Cuban Missile Crisis prompted fallout shelters, safety drills and talk of Armageddon ~ link ~ This is an article from my hometown newspaper, looking back at the near WWIII events 50 years ago.  I remember the crisis and how scary it was...I was only a child but I knew that we were all in serious danger.  Now, with the Western drive towards war with Syria/Iran/Lebanon/Hezbollah/Palestine/Gaza and Russia and China and Pakistan/etc., we are in even greater danger.  However, now the globalists and Zionists have a almost total lock on the mainstream news media (only six globalist companies, ran by Zionists, control 96% of the American mainstream news media) and they are NOT telling the public of the grave dangers that we are all facing.   We stand at the edge of the Third World War with 21st Century Weapons of Mass Destruction on all sides and most people are too spaced out to see the dangers right in front of their noses.   Stirling

A medium-range missile, one rocket expert calculated, could reach the Tri-State just 10 minutes after being launched from Cuba, bringing with it the promise of devastation, annihilation and the end of the world as we knew it.

It was 50 years ago — October 1962 — and the United States was deeply entrenched in an intense and frightening game of high-stakes geopolitical chess at the apex of the Cold War.

Iran rolls out new armed UAV 'Hazem' ~ link ~ Depending on the warheads used, these can be very dangerous.   Stirling

Downed Hezbollah drone may have relayed intel on secret IDF sites  - with photos ~ link ~ This Iranian manufactured UAV is NOT the same as the American UAV shot down by Iran some months ago.  This is a totally different design.  It is interesting that it was flying for THREE HOURS in Israeli airspace before being detected and shot down.  This proves that the Israelis are vulnerable to simple UAVs including armed UAVs (armed drones).  Keep in mind that armed UAVs can carry conventional, advanced conventional and WMD payloads for pinpoint targeting.   Stirling

The IDF shot down a Hezbollah-piloted drone over the northern Negev desert earlier this month after it possibly captured images of secret Israeli military sites. Earlier, Tel Aviv praised the IDF for its rapid response to the security breach.

The drone was launched from Lebanon and crossed into Israeli airspace on October 6, and stayed airborne for three hours before being intercepted, the Sunday Times reported.
Sources in the region claimed that the unmanned aircraft traveled more than 300 kilometers, and transmitted pictures of preparations for Israel’s joint military exercise with the US, the newspaper said. The aircraft also reportedly spotted ballistic missiles, airfields and likely the nuclear reactor in Dimona.

Eutelsat set to take Iran satellites channels off air ~ link ~ Some people just cannot stand the truth!  Stirling

European satellite provider Eutelsat SA is set to pull the plug on several satellite channels and radio stations broadcast from Iran.

The company has ordered media services company, Arqiva, to take the Iranian satellite channels off one of its Hot Bird frequencies.

The Iranian channels being taken off the air include Press TV, al-Alam, Jam-e-Jam 1 and 2, Sahar 1 and 2, Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, Quran TV, and the Arabic-language al-Kawthar.

The ban will also affect the satellite broadcast of several Iranian radio stations.

The move follows months of jamming of Iranian channels by European satellite companies. It also shows that the European Union does not respect freedom of speech, and spares no efforts to silence the voice of alternative media outlets.

Iranian news channels affected by the decision only aimed to break the West’s monopoly on news broadcast by reflecting the voice of the oppressed people to the world.

Syrian Army clears more areas of insurgents ~ link ~
Syrian troops have cleared more regions of insurgents as the clashes between the Syrian forces and the armed groups continue in the Middle Eastern state.

Reports say the Syrian forces have retaken control of the Grand Umayyad Mosque in the northern city of Aleppo and have destroyed several armored vehicles used by the insurgents. The Grand Umayyad Mosque is the largest and oldest mosque of Aleppo and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Meanwhile, the Syrian army has killed a large number of insurgents in the eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr.
Similar operations in Ma'arat al-Nu'man in Idlib Province left several armed men dead, including Turkish and Saudi nationals.

According to officials, the Deir al-Asafir, Shaba’a, Mohammadieh and Jisrin suburb areas of the capital Damascus have been purged of militants.

Opinion Poll: Majority in Turkey against war with Syria ~ link ~ The Turkish Government does not give a damn!  Just as the NATO nations don't give a damn about their citizens desires.  The power behind the thrones is the Global Banking Cartel and the Zionists and they are calling the shots and to hell with the people (according to them).   Stirling

US and UK munitions 'cause birth defects in Iraq' ~ link ~ Depleted Uranium munitions were used far too often, when not really required.  Just another example of the evil face of war on children.   Stirling

Finland: Israel warns of 'action' against Gaza ship ~ link ~ Shameful and that they don't see the shame is all the worst!  Stirling

Finland says Israel has warned that it will take action against a boat carrying international pro-Palestinian activists if it tries to break a naval blockade of Gaza.

Finnish Foreign Ministry spokesman Risto Piipponen said Saturday that Israel had sent a message to the ministry earlier this week but that it didn't say what it would do against the Finnish-flagged Estelle.

The Estelle and its Voyage to Gaza - with video ~ link The blockade needs to be ended, not eased – this is the slogan of the Freedom Flotilla Movement.

A number of pro-Palestinian solidarity groups and organizations have coordinated various flotillas to Gaza or “fly-ins” to Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport the past few years. The Estelle is the third attempt from the Freedom Flotilla Movement to challenge Israel’s naval blockade on Gaza.

The Estelle, a ship originally from Finland, began its journey in Sweden in UmeĆ„ where it was renovated before setting off to sail along Europe’s coastline, including Finland, France and Spain. Last week it arrived in the Mediterranean Gulf after having recently rounded the Italian “boot” island of Sardinia.

The ship set off in June, and on board there are 17 activists from various countries including Norway, Canada, United States, Israel and Sweden. According to AFP, the ship will reach the water territories of Gaza within two weeks.

Global Noise takes on austerity: 'We are not going to be silent' ~ link ~ Demonstrators across the world are calling for an end to austerity as Global Noise protests kick off in more than 30 countries, including many in the Nobel Peace laureate European Union. The worldwide demonstrations on Saturday passed without incident, and Caleb Maupin from the International Action Centre explained what's driving the public to take to the streets.

RT: A year ago Occupy Wall Street spread across the world, and now it’s Global Noise. What is Global Noise all about? How is it different?
Caleb Maupin: Basically, Global Noise is saying we are not going to be silent. Because right now the banks are coming for us – they are cutting all of the programs. There is mass unemployment. There is cutting in government spending and the governments of the world are just having to pay back the banks. And in the process, our future is being destroyed. It is impossible to get an education in this country without a rising debt.  What we are saying is that we are going to be a global noise. We are the next generation, the youth part of the working class as our future is being destroyed. We are not going to silently sit back and let them destroy our future. We are going to be loud. We are going to be confrontational and we are going demand that this stop.  Austerity is a crime against the people. These cuts are a crime against us, and we are going to demonstrate and we are going to oppose it.

You don't own what you think you own ~ link ~ If you own stocks or bonds or any investment through a broker, you don’t really own those investments. They are pooled and if the broker goes under, you’re shit out of luck. Not only don’t you own the investments you bought with your own money, but your broker has pledged those assets many times over. The Casey Report has a jaw dropping interview with hedge fund manager David Webb, who reveals the truth about our financial system. The conclusion is that your owners don’t give  a fuck about you. They have your money and they want more. And they will get it. Here are a few choice quotes from the interview:

A Major 'Derivatives Crisis' is Coming - the entire World would be thrown into a state of chaos ~ link

The 21st Century Monolith ~ link ~ For all intents and purposes, there have been two US Presidents thus far in the 21st century - George Bush (the younger) and Barack Obama. If we take Mr Bush’s two terms to cover fiscal 2001 to fiscal 2008, the total rise in official Treasury funded debt over that period was $US 4.350 TRILLION. If we take Mr Obama’s first term to cover fiscal 2009 to fiscal 2012, the rise over four years was $US 6.050 TRILLION. Add the two together and you get a grand total of $US 10.4 TRILLION. That’s almost two thirds (65 percent) of the total funded debt of $US 16.066 TRILLION as of September 28, 2012.

An American celebrating his or her 100th birthday this year - and quite a few will be - was born at a time when the TOTAL debt of the US Treasury was $US 2.8 Billion. In fiscal 2012, the US Treasury borrowed that amount in about 19 hours. An American celebrating his or her 50th birthday was born at a time when the funded debt of the US Treasury was $US 300 Billion. In fiscal 2012, the Treasury borrowed that amount in less than three months. An American celebrating his or her 12th birthday today was born at the beginning of the 21st century. That person doesn’t have much to celebrate, given the fact that almost twothirds (65 percent) of the total funded debt of the US Treasury has been amassed in their lifetime.

Belgium Votes as Flemish nationalists seek breakthrough ~ link ~ Belgium voted on Sunday in local elections seen as a potential make or break poll on the country's future, with Flemish nationalist leader Bart De Wever seeking a big breakthrough.

Nearly eight million voters began casting ballots from 8:00 am (0600 GMT), the last polls closing at 4:00 pm (1400 GMT) in the capital Brussels, with the first results under a complicated proportional voting system expected by late evening.

Flemish nationalist leader Bart De Wever is seeking to make a big breakthrough in Antwerp, where he hopes to win the mayor's office as a stepping stone to general elections in two years' time.

Why are Americans so easy to manipulate? ~ link ~
The corporatization of society requires a population that accepts control by authorities, and so when psychologists and psychiatrists began providing techniques that could control people, the corporatocracy embraced mental health professionals.

In psychologist B.F. Skinner’s best-selling book  Beyond Freedom and Dignity  (1971), he argued that freedom and dignity are illusions that hinder the science of behavior modification, which he claimed could create a better-organized and happier society.

During the height of Skinner’s fame in the 1970s, it was obvious to anti-authoritarians such as Noam Chomsky (“The Case Against B.F. Skinner”) and Lewis Mumord that Skinner’s worldview—a society ruled by benevolent control freaks—was antithetical to democracy. In Skinner’s novel Walden Two (1948), his behaviorist hero states, “We do not take history seriously,” to which Lewis Mumford retorted, “And no wonder: if man knew no history, the Skinners would govern the world, as Skinner himself has modestly proposed in his behaviorist utopia.”

Scientist warns of Mount Fuji eruption chaos ~ link ~ A Japanese scientist has warned Mount Fuji is due for a "big-scale explosive eruption" that could affect millions of people and cause billions of dollars worth of damage.

Last month a study found the magma chamber under the mountain has come under immense pressure, which could even trigger a volcanic eruption.

General Chuck Yeager broke the Speed of Sound in a Rocket Plane 65 Years Ago Today ~ link ~ He was on the Board of Directors for a aerospace design bureau that I was a senior consultant to, but I never got to meet him.   Stirling

Chuck Yeager became the first man to break the speed of the sound in a rocket plane on Oct. 14, 1947. Exactly 65 years later, Felix Baumgartner will try to become the first skydiver to break the speed of sound.

When asked how he felt about blasting through the sound barrier on the same day as the U.S. Air Force Captain, Baumgartner responded on the Red Bull Stratos blog:
In 65 years, it goes to show there are still challenges to overcome and you should never lose sight of trying to achieve them. I would be proud to be a part of that group of explorers.
