We live in a time when to be an alarmist is to be a realist.

The size of the coming global war will equal the size of the global debt, and the global debt is the largest in human history.

Syria: Geneva Crisis Talks

The Geneva Talks on Syria have produced a contrived declaration on a "transactional" government that gives the current Assad Government in effect full veto power over any future steps.   Since the Assad Government has no intention of 'falling on its sword' to please the globalist/GCC/Netanyahu Zionists powers, what this effectively means is that there is no real solution and the talks have failed.  What there is, is a diplomatic slight of hand that allows Russia to escape being blamed for a failure of the talks.  The price that Russia paid for this was to frame "an agreement" calling for a transition plan that it signed on to.  The plan will go nowhere because neither Syria or the opposition will ever agree on the specific terms, and according to the "agreement" the current government has to agree to whatever the specific final terms are.  The opposition, in the person of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is already saying that Assad has to go per the plan, but of course, this is NOT what the "agreement" says.

What this all means is that the world will see an extra week or so of BS by the opposition ending up with the opposition forces (US/UK/France/GCC/Turkey/NATO/Israel) claiming that the Assad Government has not kept the "agreement" and on that basis using military force against Syria.  This will, of course, kick off a massive and very bloody regional war that is highly apt to quickly become the Third World War.

Links regarding the Geneva Crisis talks:
World powers agree on Syrian transition plan ~ link ~ World powers agreed today on a power transition plan for strife-hit Syria, with the unity government to include members of the present government as well as opposition, international envoy Kofi Annan said, AFP reported.

A crunch meeting in Geneva agreed that the transitional government "could include members of the present government and the opposition and other groups and shall be formed on the basis of mutual consent," Annan said.

Assad's fate left open after Syrian crisis talks ~ link International powers agreed on Saturday that a transitional government should be set up in Syria to end the bloodshed there but left open the question of what part President Bashar al-Assad might play in the process.

The final communiqué said the transitional government "could include members of the present government and the opposition and other groups and shall be formed on the basis of mutual consent". But in a victory for Russian diplomacy, it omitted language contained in a previous draft which explicitly said it "would exclude from government those whose continued presence and participation would undermine the credibility of the transition and jeopardize stability and reconciliation". Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he was "delighted" with the result as it meant no foreign solution was being imposed on Syria. But U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it sent a clear message to Assad that he must step down. "Assad will still have to go," Clinton told a news conference after the meeting ended.

"New" Annan Plan embodies Russian - American stalemate on Syria's Assad ~ link ~ The issue is 'regime overthrow' and the Russians and Chinese and Syrians say NO; the Americans, British, French, Israelis, GCC nations and Turkey say YES.  The stalemate continues and the Crisis Talks have failed but they are covered in diplomatic BS to make it look like something was actually accomplished.  In reality the Russians gave the opposition a Libyan-like opportunity, to claim various lies in the near future about what the "agreement" requires, in return for not being blamed for the failure of the Talks.  This likely adds a week to perhaps several weeks of back-and-forth diplomatic talk before all-out war begins.   Stirling

Behind the Kofi Annan’s diplomatic prevarications, it was clear that the Action Group meeting, attended by the five permanent Security Council members and Arab League representatives, had left US-Russian differences over Assad firmly in place and both would carry as before:

The US, in conjunction with Persian Gulf governments, will continue to prepare for military action and look for “creative” ways to topple Assad outside the UN Security Council where Russia stands ready with a veto.

Syrians must determine their own destiny, Russia and China say ~ link  Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi announced their countries’ stances after a meeting on the situation in Syria at the United Nations office in Geneva on Saturday.

Lavrov said that Moscow had convinced other parties to accept that Syrians should make the decision on any transition and that no party should be excluded from the process.

"How exactly the work on a transition to a new stage is conducted will be decided by the Syrians themselves," he said, adding, "There are no demands to exclude from this process any one group. This aspect had been present in many of our partners' proposals. We have convinced them that this is unacceptable.”

Yang also emphasized the need for an all-Syrian solution to the crisis, noting that "outsiders cannot make decisions for the Syrian people."

I do this blog every day, seven days a week, and I am going to take a couple days with a reduced workload, so I am not doing any further updates today.  Tim Earl of Stirling
