Lavrov for his part said that he was convinced of the Syrian leadership’s commitment to the UN-brokered peace plan. He also called on Kofi Annan and the global powers to try bring the Syrian opposition to their senses: "The US and other countries which have influence over the Syrian opposition had better stop pointing the finger at China and Russia all the time, but rather use their leverage to convince everyone to stop shooting," he said.
In a statement published on Tuesday, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry noted that arrested members of the Israeli terrorist network were planning to launch attacks against the country.
The Ministry added that the Israeli-affiliated terrorists were arrested after months of intelligence operations in central and border provinces.
Some of them, the statement noted, were totally prepared to carry out their terrorist operations when Iran's intelligence agents swooped down on them.
The Ministry further stated that large amounts of explosives, weapons and military equipment have also been seized.
The law particularly targets ex-spymaster chief Omar Suleiman and former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq, who had earlier infuriated the public by announcing bids to contest for the top post.
The Tuesday vote came in a parliament dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood party.
This time it is Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, son of Vice President Joe Biden, sending out mandates to commissioners informing them that their sheriffs no longer have arrest powers. In an opinion released Feb. 24, State Solicitor L.W. Lewis said that neither the state nor the common law grants arrest powers to the county sheriffs.
It would appear that Lewis is a little confused. The office of sheriff was created more than a century before the official founding of the United States. Delaware’s first sheriff took office in 1669.
