'No side is interested in long-term ceasefire in Syria' - with video ~ link ~ That is correct.  The Syrian people want the foreign "rebels" out of their nation and will fight to the death to get them out.  The US/NATO/Globalists forces want World War III.  The Israelis want a General Middle East War so that they can rule all of the region.   The GCC states want to kill off the forces in the Muslim world that are not allied with them.  The non-Syrians see Syria as the backdoor to war with Iran.  This has all the makings of the greatest disaster in human history!   Stirling

UN chief Ban Ki-moon has called for more peacekeepers and aircraft to be deployed in Syria to monitor the truce there. But are the major forces in the conflict really interested in a long-term ceasefire? The proposed 250 observers to be sent to monitor the UN-Arab League-brokered ceasefire would "not be enough considering the current situation and the vastness of the country," UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Tuesday. He noted that the ceasefire was being "generally observed" although there was still some violence. He also added that the UN was asking the EU to provide helicopters and planes for the operation, Reuters says.

This is the Chart spooking Europe this morning ~ link ~ Check it out at the link.  Stirling

There have been many scary parabolic charts associated with Spain demonstrated here over the past few weeks. Today, the market is focused on the following line that goes from the lower left to upper right, which if not parabolic yet, may be getting there soon. The chart shows Spanish banks' bad loan ratio, which at 8.16% of the total €1.763 trillion in loans, or €143.8 billion, is the first time loans more than 3 months overdue were greater than 8% since October 1994. Indicatively bad debt levels were about 1% in the years prior to the collapse of the country's property market. Furthermore, with the rapid deterioration in Spain in the past 2 months, expect this chart to leg up substantially in June when the series catches up to April real time data, most likely crossing double digit territory. But for now the fact that of the country's roughly €1.4 trillion in GDP, over 10% in bank debt is "bad" and surging, should be a sufficiently loud wake up call.

Currency Debasement: Traveling in Europe has become absurdly expensive - And you know the reason why ~ link ~ Now, the official story for rising prices across Europe usually involves some insipid excuse about tensions with Iran or weather. And in nearly every instance, the government propaganda machines simply insult people’s intelligence and understate inflation by an entire order of magnitude.

Yet as John Maynard Keynes, the high priest of modern monetarism, once said, “There is no subtler, surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”
Prescient words from the man whose General Theory constitutes the playbook from which modern politicians and central bankers routinely pillage the livelihoods of billions of people across the planet.

Spain's banks bad loans ratio hit record highs since 1994 ~ link ~ Official figures showed Wednesday that the ratio of Spain’s bad bank loans shot to an 18-year high in February.

Doubts about the extent of Spain's non- performing loans problem is hurting bank stocks and driving up the government's borrowing costs on investor concerns that the expense of propping up ailing lenders may add to the debt burden.

Fukushima - It's Never Been Worse ~ linkBeginning with the initial meltdown at Fukushima Daiishi nuclear power plant on March 11, 2011, we at From the Trenches World Report were pointing out that the unrealistic information being put out by the Japanese government, TEPCO, and the mainstream media in the United States was purposeful in its intent.  Indeed, in reality most people around the world could not grasp the enormity of the event and its significance.

Jack Straw faces legal action over 'rendition' - with video ~ link ~ Good!!!  It is well past time that the political whores and 'Israel first' hacks be criminally charged for the dark and dirty evil deeds that they have done; or at least face civil lawsuits that take all their money.  Both the man pressing the legal inquiry and his pregnant wife were tortured ... they were a gift to Qaddafi from the British government at a time when the UK was still on friendly terms with the former Libyan government.   Stirling

The civil action is against Mr Straw personally - Mr Belhadj's lawyers believe it is the first time legal action of this kind has been taken against a former foreign secretary.

Mr Belhadj and his wife allege Mr Straw was complicit in the "torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, batteries and assaults" which they say were perpetrated on them by Thai and US agents, as well as the Libyan authorities. They are seeking damages from Mr Straw for the trauma involved.

Battle for the Internet - Big Brother at the Gate - with video ~ link ~ The battle over control of the internet is not just about the freedom of speech, but our global future. It is the choice between a Big Brother and democracy unseen before, insists Rick Falkvinge, the founder of the Swedish Pirate Party.

RT:In the future, do you see an internet that is free, open and equal or do you see dark clouds ahead?
Rickard Falkvinge: We’re at a crossroads right now. This technology can be used to create such a dystopic Big Brother society that if you’d had written a book about it in 1950s-80s, it would have been discarded as being unrealistic. We’re at this dystopic stage seen in the 1950s where there were cameras in people’s homes. The only thing missing from the scenario [is] we bought them ourselves [personal computers] – that is the only thing that was not foreseen. On the other hand, you can also use this technology to create the society where power holders are more accountable than ever to the voting citizenry. Where the ideas get to battle it out without interference from who said what. We can create a society where culture and ideas can flourish like never before.

Ron Paul winning delegates with Santorum support coalition ~ link ~ With the suspension of Rick Santorum’s presidential campaign, mainline Republicans immediately began reporting that the race was over, and that Mitt Romney was the GOP nominee for the presidency. But Romney supporters may have started celebrating prematurely. If recent events are any indication, Ron Paul is a dangerous competitor.

First, Rick Santorum’s supporters have begun uniting with Paulistas on an anti-Romney slate at state conventions. Bolstered by this arrangement, Ron Paul is gathering large numbers of delegates even in states where he performed poorly in the initial voting. In Colorado, a state where Paul came in last place, a Paul/Santorum “Conservative Unity Slate” has captured the plurality of delegates, with Ron Paul leading the coalition. In addition, the Paul/Santorum alliance removed Romney supporter Ryan Call, Colorado State Party Chairman, from his seat as Delegation Chairman, as well as placed two of its own members on the state’s Rules Committee.

US Navy to name next Zumwalt-class ship after LBJ ~ link ~ Just what we need, a warship named after one of the world scumbags ever to sit in the Oval Office!   Stirling

The Navy has named the third ship in its class of state-of-the-art destroyers after the late President Lyndon B. Johnson, who served as a naval officer during World War II, the service said in a press release Monday.
