Breaking News - Israeli warplanes strike northern Gaza ~ link ~ The truce is NOT holding in Gaza!  Stirling
Iron Dome intercepts 1 Grad, misses another ~ link ~
An Iron Dome anti-missile battery intercepted a Grad-type rocket launched toward the southern city of Be'er Sheva on Wednesday. The intercept occurred shortly after 19:00 (GMT+2).

The battery failed to intercept a second Grad on the same trajectory, which fell short and landed in an open field outside of Beer Sheva. No physical injuries were reported in the attack. It is possible that it did not attempt to intercept it, as the system can predict where a missile willl land almost instantaneously.

Grads fired at Beersheba; IAF strikes Gaza ~ link Fragile truce shaken as Gaza terrorists fire rockets at Negev communities. Iron Dome intercepts two projectiles; IAF retaliates with strike on east Strip terror hub.

Gaza militants fire rockets at Israel, Iron Dome intercepts projectiles over Be'er Sheva ~ link The Israel Air Forces' Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted two Grad-type rockets launched toward the southern city of Be'er Sheva on Wednesday, despite a truce reached between Israel and Gaza militants earlier this week, while a third projectile landed in an open field in the vicinity of the town of Ofakim.

Municipalities of the cities of Be'er Sheva, Ashdod and Ashkelon  announced later Wednesday that studies in the cities' schools would be called off for Thursday, after only two days since announcing a return to studies following the Egypt-mediated ceasefire.

Netanyahu: Iranian terror base in Gaza will be ripped out ~ link ~ Sounds like old Bibi just cannot resist taking the bate.   Stirling

Reposting: An Iranian Strategy in Play to Defeat the Triple Alliance ~ link The current round of attacks on southern Israel from Gaza, now into its fourth day, may well be a Iranian strategy to take the strategic initiative in a coming General Middle East War.

It is very clear that the current Netanyahu government intends to launch, or preferably have the Americans launch a war on Iran, or use a military intervention by US/NATO forces in Syria as a type of 'back door' to a war on Iran.  The 'Triple Alliance' of US/France/UK/NATO - Israel - GCC (Gulf Cooperative Council states) has been very active in creating, funding, arming, staffing, supporting and controlling the 'revolt' against the Assad government in Syria.  Syria and Iran have a military alliance and neither is prepared to stand by and watch the other be destroyed.  Hence, an attack on Syria either with or without UN Security Council cover, is considered a 'back door' to a war with Iran and to a General Middle East war that will include Lebanon, Palestine and Gaza.

The conservative Arab Gulf monarchies of the GCC are opposed to the radical Shiite state of Iran, however, their people are first and foremost Arabs who are Muslim and another Gaza War with thousands of Arab civilians being slaughtered by the Israelis will place the Triple Alliance in grave danger.  If a General Middle East War begins over a new Israeli War on the Arabs of Gaza instead of being over a 'revolt' in Syria or an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities the entire dynamics changes.  Then it is Muslims against Jews, and Arabs and Iranians against Israelis and foreigners.  If the Al-Aqsa Mosque at the Temple Mound is attacked and it is claimed that the Israelis were really responsible (within the last couple of days Yusuf Ade', the head of the Iranian Quds Supreme Court, has warned of an Israeli plot to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque ~ link) that alone would be a Casus Belli for every Muslin to rise up and defend Islam against the Israelis.  But even without this, if the General Middle East War begins over an Israeli slaughter of Arabs, the GCC monarchs will not be able to count on their senior officers keeping control of their air forces, of their armies, and of their naval forces.  That would really blow up the Middle East!

Netanyahu cancels European trip, citing volatile situation in Israel's south ~ link ~ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cancelled his planned visit to Paris and Madrid, which was on Wednesday, due to the “security situation in southern Israel,” despite the renewed calm in the Gaza Strip.

Attempts at coordinating the visits to France and Spain began after Netanyahu's return to Israel from the AIPAC conference in Washington. Israeli embassies in Paris and Madrid were asked to inquire whether the Élysée Palace and Spain’s prime minister’s office would allow Netanyahu to visit on March 21 and 22.

The explanation given by the Prime Minister’s office is a bit strange, especially in light of the fact that it was released after a renewed ceasefire was announced in the Gaza Strip. Thus, the cancellation brings up the question of whether the Prime Minister’s Office expects another round of fighting in the coming days. The Prime Minister’s Office refused to comment or offer a response over the cancellation.

YNet Opinion - OpEd: Time for Gaza War ~ link Op-ed: All-out war in Gaza Strip is a bad option for Israel, but all other alternatives are worse

The implication of the bad option is thousands of fatalities in Gaza and terrible images in the global media. The implication is hundreds of missiles fired on Israel – including central Israel – and dozens of killed civilians.

The Iron Dome missile defense system proved itself in recent days, but it too has limitations. After a certain number of missiles are launched from Gaza, we will be left with no interceptor missiles. We won’t be able to produce them given such murderous rate of fire.

YNet Opinion:  Stay Out of Gaza ~ link Israel is most certainly teaching them a lesson, in places where there are no bomb shelters or an Iron Dome system or an air raid siren, yet nonetheless, the rocket fire keeps on resuming, time and again. Perhaps this is the case because they have nothing to lose, or because they are stubborn and determined in fighting their war. Maybe we need to seek other ways to fight them.

In any case, after such long years of endless clashes, we should know by now what works and what doesn’t. And at what price.

YNet Opinion - OpEd: Real Test Yet To Come ~ link Nothing around here is over until it’s over. Israel is still facing a serious threat, which stems from the missile range of Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north.

IDF uncertain about Gaza Ceasefire ~ link "The IDF is following the events and is preparing for all possibilities," Russo said. "If the silence is broken we have many tools to respond with, and in the last round we did not use them all", Russo emphasized.

"Much greater action may be required in the future, but we need to know that there are no magic solutions," he said.

Obama and Cameron: No intervention in Syria, pullout in Afghanistan - with video ~ link ~ And WHY should we believe you???  Stirling

The US and the UK are just as determined as ever to remove Bashar Assad from power, but are unlikely to go for a full-scale military intervention – at least for now.

This was the gist of the message from US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron as they stood side-by-side before the White House press corps.

Cameron is on a three-day official visit to the United States, and the leaders were keen to reaffirm the two allies' “essential relationship.”

Israel targets Palestinian solar panels in bid for West Bank dominance ~ link ~ This is legally a 'War Crime' under international law...not that that matters to the Israelis.   Stirling

Hundreds of Palestinians will be left without electricity should Israel’s order for the demolition of 8 solar panels in the West Bank go ahead, in what many say is an attempt to drive Palestinians out of the Israeli-controlled part of the territory.

“We are suspended between heaven and earth; the solar panels were a glimmer of hope for us,” Ali Mohamed Ihrizat, the village head of Imenizil, one of the places where the solar panels are scheduled to be demolished, told Agence France-Presse.

The panels were constructed by international charities, but the Israeli authorities say they were built without permission.

Goldman Sachs executive in resignation letter: 'It makes me ill how people talk about ripping clients off' ~ link ~ There are a large number of people working for the Global Banking Cartel that should be in prison for the rest of their lives!   We are talking about major criminals here.  Stirling

A Goldman Sachs executive has dealt a deeply embarrassing blow to the firm by quitting in an open letter in which he lambasts the working environment as 'toxic and destructive'.

Greg Smith, an executive director who has worked at the New York-based investment bank for 12 years, claimed it is more interested in making money for itself than its clients. In a scathing resignation letter published in the New York Times on Wednesday, he reveals staff have so little respect for clients, they call them 'muppets' and talk of 'ripping eyeballs out'.

Which is better - A society with loose sexuality or a society with strict rules for sexuality? ~ link ~ Take the time to read this one!  Stirling

There are very few subjects that get people more fired up than the subject of sexuality.  In fact, almost all of the highly contentious "social issues" that have America so deeply divided today have something to do with sexuality.  Many Americans are pretty clueless when it comes to the economy, but when it comes to abortion, sex education, gay marriage, teen pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases almost everyone has a very strong opinion.  If you try to convince someone that they are wrong about any of these issues, most of the time you will be fighting a losing battle.  Most Americans simply do not want to be told what to do when it comes to sexuality.  But attitudes toward sexuality have definitely changed in America over the decades.  In the early part of the 20th century most Americans followed strict rules when it came to sexuality, but then along came the "sexual revolution" and all of that changed.  Today, most Americans consider the loose sexuality in our society to be a very good thing.  Most Americans are glad that they can have sex with any other willing adult partner (or partners) any time they want to.  But has this been good for America?  Is it better to have a society with loose sexuality or a society with strict rules for sexuality?

While much of the rest of the world would consider us to be a bit "prude", the truth is that America is a global leader when it comes to loose sexuality.  We produce more pornography than the rest of the world combined and we have the highest teen pregnancy rate on the planet by far.  Our movies endlessly promote loose sexuality, our television shows endlessly promote loose sexuality and our music endlessly promotes loose sexuality.  We are the number one exporter of entertainment in the world, and our values regarding sexuality are influencing minds in every corner of the globe every single hour of every single day.
In our public schools, the mechanics of human sexual behavior are taught to students as young as five years old.  Most of the time this is done without any sort of moral commentary whatsoever.  Usually, the only thing our children are taught about sexual responsibility is to "use a condom" - as if that is going to solve much of anything.

So has all of this loose sexuality made America a better place?

Have there been any negative consequences for the choices that we have made?

Sadly, there have been....
