Putin wins third presidential term with over 60% - with video ~ link ~ Preliminary results show Vladimir Putin securing 64.63 per cent of votes in Russia's presidential election, with his closest rival Gennady Zyuganov taking 17.05 per cent.
So far, the Central Election Commission has counted over 50 per cent of the ballots.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Mikhail Prokhorov are waging a real political battle for third place, with both winning the support of some 7 per cent of voters. Sergey Mironov is running fifth, with some 3.71 per cent of votes cast.

Tearful Putin claims victory in Russian election - with video ~ link ~ This places Putin in a stronger position to challenge Israeli/US/NATO aggression in the Middle East.   Stirling

Vladimir Putin claimed victory in Russia's presidential election Sunday and, tears rolling down his cheeks, said it was a historical turning point that had prevented the country falling into the hands of enemies trying to usurp power.

Adamant Obama confronts Netanyahu with a lone decision on Iran ~ link ~ I for one am not buying into this narrative on a Obama-Netanyahu dispute.  Obama, whoever he really is (and I am not sure who his father is and not even sure who his mother is; all the photos of him and his 'family' from childhood have been Photoshopped), is the most 'Front Man' of all the presidents in American history.  He has answered to only two forces in his Administration: the Global Banking Cartel and the Zionists.  Suddenly, or so we are told by all the mainstream news media, he is disagreeing with them and holding them back from a new war.   Could be, but I am not buying it.   Stirling

A number of confidential Russian messages advised Israel to forget any reversals of Iran’s nuclear progress. The coming international negotiations, they said, must start with accepting the current status of Iran’s nuclear program, “There’s no turning back.”

The White House message to Netanyahu on the eve of his meeting with Obama was that Tehran would simply not come to the negotiating table if faced with those three demands.
This message was reinforced by a leak to the New York Times Sunday, March 4, asserting that “American intelligence agencies continue to say that there is no evidence that Iran has made a final decision to pursue a nuclear weapon. Recent assessments by American spy agencies have reaffirmed intelligence findings in 2007 and 2010 that concluded that Iran had abandoned its nuclear weapons program.”

Obama says 'when chips are down I have Israel's back' ~ link ~ How nice...how about AMERICA???  What happens to America if you start or allow Israel to start the Third World War???  You jerk!  Stirling

US President Barack Obama says Washington has remained and will remain committed to Israel’s security, despite Tel Aviv atrocities committed against Palestinians.

During his speech at the AIPAC Conference in Washington on Sunday, Obama said that there is no need to rely on his words to judge his commitment to Israel as the last three years of his record in office speaks for itself.

"At every crucial juncture, at every fork in the road, we have been there for Israel every single time," Obama said.

Referring to Israel’s atrocities during its 22-day war on Gaza, Obama said that the US defended Israel against the Goldstone report, which accused Tel Aviv of war crimes against Gazans.

Noting that relations between Washington and Tel Aviv have never been so robust, Obama called Israel’s security sacrosanct.

"When Israel was isolated in the aftermath of the flotilla incident, we supported them. When the Durban conference was commemorated, we boycotted it, and we will always reject the notion that Zionism is racism,” He said.

“When resolutions are brought up at the Human Rights Council, we oppose them. When Israeli diplomats feared for their lives in Cairo, we intervened to help save them. When there are efforts to boycott or divest from Israel, we will stand against them,” Obama added.

"When the chips are down I have Israel’s back."

Israel prepares safety measures amid Iran war talk ~ link Israel has recently been beefing up its wartime safety measures such as building shelters and boosting emergency services amid fears of a devastating Iranian counterstrike to a potential Tel Aviv attack.

Israel has been transforming the parking lot of Tel Aviv’s Habima National Theater into a sophisticated bomb shelter, the Associated Press reported.

Roi Flyshman, spokesman for Israeli civil defense ministry, said the make-shift shelter, four stories underground and capable of accommodating up to 1,600 people, is “very advanced” and could serve as a blueprint for others.

He added that plenty of parking lots in Israel can become shelters, adding, “We want to copy from Habima to other places.”

Last week, senior Israeli lawmaker Zeev Bielski said Tel Aviv’s defense capabilities do not rise high enough to protect Israel in case of a retaliatory attack by Iran.

Almost one in four Israelis lack access to bomb shelters, whether communal or reinforced rooms in private homes, Bielski said.

The safety measures come as Israel has recently stepped up its threats of a military aggression against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear energy program. Israeli officials say the timing is coincidental.

Obama says US won't hesitate to use force on Iran ~ link ~ Iran is NOT a threat to America unless we attack them, so why are we even talking about using force against this nation?  Stirling

US President Barack Obama told the AIPAC conference in Washington Sunday that the United States and Israel "share interests, but we also share those human values that (President) Shimon (Peres) spoke about. A commitment to human dignity. A belief that freedom is a right that is given to all of God’s children."

"Yes, we are bound to Israel because of the interests that we share – in security for our communities; prosperity for our people; and new frontiers of science that can light the world. But it is our common ideals that provide the true foundation for our relationship," said the American leader, who spoke shortly after Peres.

Peres tells AIPAC 'Iran must be stopped' ~ link ~ Who does this tiny nation think it is?  It is always bombing and waging war and on the brink of waging war with its neighbors.  Now it wants to plunge the entire planet into the Third World War so that it can be the overlord of the Middle East.  It is Israel's outrageous behavior that must be stopped.   Stirling

Foreign Minister Lieberman: Israel will decide on Iran War independent of USA ~ link ~  You can always count on this former East European nightclub bouncer to run true to form...this nut actually makes Bibi 666 Netanyahu look sane!  Stirling

Lieberman said the ultimate decision on how to deal with Iran's nuclear activities would be made by Israel.

The Israeli foreign minister claimed such a decision should be made "calmly, weighing the pros and cons. All this chatter doesn't help anyone."

The US and Israel have been escalating war rhetoric against Iran during the past few months, claiming that Tehran seeks to produce nuclear weapons under the cover of its civilian nuclear energy program.

On March 2, Obama threatened Iran with a military strike over the country’s nuclear energy program, telling the Atlantic magazine that the US is “not taking any option off the table” in order to stop Iran's nuclear energy program.

Meanwhile, a poll conducted ahead of Netanyahu’s Washington visit showed that only 19 percent of Israelis support an Iran strike without US backing.

Iran has denied Western allegations about its nuclear energy program and has promised a crushing response to any military strike against the country. Tehran has also warned that any such measure could result in a war that would spread beyond the Middle East.

Netanyahu welcomes Obama's statements on Israel's right to self-defense ~ link ~ I still feel that a high risk of war exists towards the end of this week.  Stirling

PM Benjamin Netanyahu reacts postively to U.S. President Barack Obama's AIPAC speech; Peres meets with Obama for 35 minutes after speech.

Obama: All options remain on the table to prevent a nuclear Iran ~ link ~ How about all options to control the war hawks in Israel and America and the globalists, between them they are placing the entire planet at grave risk.   Stirling

U.S. President Barack Obama said on Sunday that the entire world has an interest in preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and that all options remain on the table to keep Iran from going nuclear.

Netanyahu praises Obama's AIPAC speech ~ link
On Friday, after meeting Harper, Netanyahu laid down at a joint press conference the three terms Israel felt Iran needed to meet before the west negotiated with Teheran over its nuclear program: the closure of the facility at Qoms, the end of all uranium enrichment in Iran, and the removal from Iran of all uranium enriched over 3.5 percent.

According to sources, Netanyahu hoped that Harper would sign onto these terms, giving him support when he took these proposals to Washington and his meeting with Obama on Monday. Harper, however, balked.

Turkey threatens to annex northern Cyprus ~ link
Turkey would consider annexing northern Cyprus if talks between Greek and Turkish Cypriots failed to reach a deal on reunification of the island, Turkey's European Affairs Minister Egemen Bagis told a Turkish Cypriot newspaper.Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Christofias and his Turkish Cypriot counterpart Dervis Eroglu have made little progress in negotiations to reunite the island, divided in 1974, since the United Nations persuaded them to renew efforts late last year.

Chomsky: World considers US and Israel threat not Iran ~ link American scholar Noam Chomsky says the world does not accept the US portrayal of Iran as an “imminent threat” to global peace, and that Washington and Tel Aviv are instead seen as greater evils.

“There is little credible discussion of just what constitutes the Iranian threat, though we do have an authoritative answer, provided by US military and intelligence. Their presentations to Congress make it clear that Iran doesn’t pose a military threat,” Chomsky wrote in his latest article titled “What Are Iran’s Intensions?” published Friday.

Chomsky added that even "the majority of Americans" recognized Iran’s right to its nuclear energy program before Washington officials and media launched a “massive propaganda onslaught” against the Islamic Republic over the past two years.

He added that presently powerful countries like Russia, China, India, and 120 member nations of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) oppose the US policy on Iran.

“Western commentary has made much of how the Arab dictators allegedly support the US position on Iran, while ignoring the fact that the vast majority of the population opposes it-a stance too revealing to require comment,” he said.

Instead, Chomsky said, “Europeans regard Israel as the greatest threat to world peace,” and in the Arab world he added, “Israel and the US are regarded as the pre-eminent threat.”
