Pentagon prepares 'aerial refueling' for Israeli planes striking Iran ~ link ~ Israel has refueling 707s but not enough for a massive long-range attack.  So naturally Uncle Sam has to step in...NOT!!!  Crazy war whores will start World War III!  Stirling

In a dramatic U-turn to show Israel that Washington is serious about its military option against Iran’s nuclear program, Pentagon officials disclosed Thursday, March 1, that “military options being prepared start with providing refueling for Israeli planes and include attacking the pillars of the clerical regime. They include the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and its elite Qods Force, regular Iranian military bases and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security." The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in Washington’s first public reference to possible joint military action with Israel against Iran.
Earlier, Israel asked the Obama administration to finally set red lines for Iran’s nuclear program and abandon its “shifting red lines” option, as well as spelling out US military contingencies instead of using the worn-out “all options are on the table” mantra.

Israeli Officials: Let's Starve Iranian Civilians ~ link ~ Stalin would be so proud!   This is what he did to the people of the Ukraine.   Shame on these Israeli officials, they should know better.  This is the type of crap you get when you have people pushing a racist theology of hate, that everyone but your tribe is nothing but a two-legged soulless animal.   Stirling

The comments suggest that Israel is growing impatient with the ongoing sanctions against Iran, and is looking for something that will be a “game changer” that finally forces regime change or at least spawns an international objection that can be used as an excuse for a unilateral attack. The idea that a suddenly starving populace is going to overthrow its government on behalf of those that are starving them, however, seems to fly in the face of the history of sanctions.

Syria to allow Red Cross into embattled district after forcing withdrawal of 'rebel' forces from Homs ~ link ~ Syrian authorities will let Red Cross aid workers enter the Baba Amro district of Homs on Friday, a spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in Geneva. The move came as a three-week army siege of the neighborhood appeared to be ending on Thursday with the withdrawal of rebel forces.

Planned Regime Change in Syria ~ link ~ Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and now Syria had peace and calm until Washington intervened belligerently. Strategies and tactics vary. Objectives are consistent. They involve replacing independent regimes with pro-Western ones by any means, including war. Three unwinnable ones rage. Nonetheless, Obama plans more. Syria's target one. For the past year, US-instigated violence ravaged parts of the country. Thousands have been killed, many others injured. Syria's gripped by fear. Heavily armed killer gangs rage out of control, and direct foreign intervention looms. More on that below. Assad's wrongly blamed. The blame game targets victims, not villains. As a result, ongoing conflict continues.

Greek 1 Year Bond 80% Away From 1000% ~ linkToday for the first time ever Greek 10 year bonds slide to below 20% of par (5.9% of 2022 dropped to 19.145 cents) as expected some time ago, as increasingly the revulsion to post reorg bonds gets greater and greater courtesy of that now meaningless cash coupon of 2% through 2015. When considering that the country will redefault within a year, it explains why nobody has any interest in holding Greek paper even assuming there is an EFSF bill sweetener. Also, today's ISDA decision did not help. What is most amusing is that as of this morning, the country's 1 Year bonds hit an all time high yield of 920.2%. Well, if Greek bonds crossing 100% just 5 months ago was not quite attractive, perhaps 1000% will. At this rate we expect said threshold to cross some time today.

Inflation is a Tax and the Federal Reserve is Taxing the Living Daylights Out of Us ~ link ~ Ronald Reagan once famously declared that inflation is a tax, but sadly most Americans did not really grasp what he was talking about.  If the American people truly understood what inflation was doing to them, they would be screaming bloody murder about monetary policy.  Inflation is an especially insidious tax because it is not just a tax on your income for one year.  It is a continual tax on every single dollar that you own.  As your money sits in the bank, it is constantly losing value.  Over time, the effects of inflation can be absolutely devastating.  For example, if you put 100 dollars in the bank in 1970, those same dollars today would only have about 17 percent of the purchasing power that they did back then.  In essence, you were hit by an 83 percent "inflation tax" and all you did was leave your money in the bank.  So who is responsible for this?  Well, the Federal Reserve controls monetary policy in the United States, and the inflationary monetary policy that the Fed has gotten all of us accustomed to is taxing the living daylights out of us.  This is madness, and it needs to stop.

New speech - jamming gun hints at dystopian Big Brother future ~ link ~ Japanese researchers have created a hand-held gun (pictured above) that can jam the words of speakers who are more than 30 meters (100ft) away. The gun has two purposes, according to the researchers: At its most basic, this gun could be used in libraries and other quiet spaces to stop people from speaking — but its second application is a lot more chilling.

The researchers were looking for a way to stop “louder, stronger” voices from saying more than their fair share in conversation. The paper reads: “We have to establish and obey rules for proper turn-taking when speaking. However, some people tend to lengthen their turns or deliberately interrupt other people when it is their turn in order to establish their presence rather than achieve more fruitful discussions. Furthermore, some people tend to jeer at speakers to invalidate their speech.” In other words, this speech-jamming gun was built to enforce “proper” conversations.

Will damning Obama footage still be released after Breitbart's death? - with video ~ link Media trailblazer Andrew Breitbart, who single-handedly declared war on the establishment left and won numerous political battles, unexpectedly died this early morning in his Los Angeles home aged 43.

Breitbart’s untimely death has shocked the media world and left some to question whether or not damning footage of Obama in his youth, which Breitbart announced he had obtained only last month, will still be released.

Davy Jones, RIP - video ~ link ~ The lead singer of The Monkees has died at 66 of a heart attack. The band was a creation of marketing guys for a TV show, and it turned out to be pretty good. The Monkees even outsold the Beatles—and the Stones—one year.

30 Stupid Things the government is spending money on ~ link ~ If you want to get paid for doing something stupid, just turn to the U.S. government.  The U.S. government is paying researchers to play video games, it is paying researchers to study the effects of cocaine on Japanese quail and it has spent millions of dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly.  The amount of money that the government wastes is absolutely horrifying.  Do you remember all of that political wrangling over the debt ceiling deal last year?  Do you remember how our politicians told us that there were cutting spending as much as they possibly could?  Well, it was all a giant lie.  As you will see below, the U.S. government is spending money on some of the most stupid things imaginable.  What makes all of this even worse is that we are going into enormous amounts of debt in order to pay for all of this.  We are borrowing billions of dollars a day in order to pay for stupid stuff that no government on earth should ever be paying for.  Trust me, you are going to find it hard to believe some of the stuff in this list.  It is almost inconceivable what our politicians are doing with our tax dollars.

The following are 30 incredibly stupid things that the federal government is spending money on....
