Saudis and Gulf states on WAR ALERT for Early US-Iran clash ~ link ~ The Iranians do not want to wait until America has shipped in all the most advanced anti-missile technology that it has, plus thousands of USAF and US Army troops, in early March for whatever is going to happen, to begin.  They want the strategic initiative, at least in terms of the timing.  I suspect that things are about to happen and happen soon.   The real question is, will events include a all-out General Middle East War that will become the Third World War???  Or will events, be limited to the Straits of Hormuz????  If only the latter happens, at this time, it will nevertheless cause a total economic collapse globally.   If you have been thinking about a new car, or can just afford one, now is a great time to acquire a hybrid automobile...they might be worth several times their price in the days ahead.  Stock up on food NOW; and pray...ultimately, this is a battle between God and Satan...you want to be clearly on God's side!  This is a good article that you should read all of at the link.  Stirling

How Iran Could Close the Strait of Hormuz and Damage the US Navy ~ link ~ Another article that you should read all of at the link.   Stirling

I’ve just been reading up on the Russian-made anti-ship missile, the Sunburn, supplied to Iran in the hundreds.  Despite the fact that Russian military might is generally a paper tiger, this weapon is fearsomely effective.  It flies at supersonic speeds (2,100 mph) hugging the ground (as low as 45 feet) and is barely perceptible on radar.  It is so fast that ship-board defenses may not even be able to pinpoint its location before impact.  It collides with its target at such force that a single well-placed missile might sink an entire aircraft carrier.  The missile can be fired by ship, submarine, aircraft or from a truck.

Think of the hundreds of miles of mountainous Iranian coastline that lines the Straits.  Think too, of the Iranian supplied missile that nearly sank an Israeli frigate off the coast of Lebanon during the 2006 War.  Think three, of the difficulties faced by the Israeli air force during the 2006 Lebanon war in eradicating the Hezbollah missile inventory.  It simply could not keep up with the well-hidden missile sites and the sheer number the group had at its disposal.  Now think of a far more formidable adversary with more advanced missiles, more resources to deploy and hide them, and more territory in which to conceal them.

Turkey: We won't allow Iran strike from Turkey ~ link ~ Turkey is trying to position itself in its old role as leader of the global Muslim community.   It is hosting a large part of the anti-Syria military force; and the usage of Turkey's bases to strike Iran is not necessary...certainly at this stage of the game.  Military action in the Strait of Hormuz is imminent, however.  Stirling

Turkish support for Iran: Turkey's foreign minister said Thursday that his country will not allow its territory to be used for a strike on Iran, adding that Ankara does not perceive Tehran as a threat.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Ahmet Davuto─člu referred to the deployment of a NATO radar in Turkey, stressing that it cannot be used against Iran.

Iran ready to resume nuclear talks with Iran ~ link ~ Will one or both sides 'blink'??? Also see ~ linkStirling

Turkey has delivered a Western offer to Tehran to renew negotiations over its nuclear program, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Thursday, expressing hope that talks stalled a year ago could soon be revived.

As new sanctions from the United States and the European Union added pressure on the Iranian economy, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Tehran was also interested in returning to the negotiating table.

Analysts: Gas prices may hit $5 per gallon ~ link ~ They could go much higher than this when the Strait of Hormuz is closed!!!   Stirling

MSM Propaganda on Syria: Now comes the Silent Treatment ~ link Have you noticed how it’s been all quiet on the Western MSM War Propaganda front? As more and more alternative news outlets are increasing their reporting on the real situation in Syria, as even the puppet Arab League is issuing observations contradicting previously reported ‘un-sourced and undocumented’ atrocities and a made-up huge death-toll caused by Assad’s regime, the mainstream media and corporate-funded NGO news fronts have been decreasing their Syria coverage. It is almost as if they’ve gotten ‘a black-eye’ and gone in hiding. Rest assured, there won’t be any retraction on previously publicized, that is, intensely, un-sourced, un-confirmed, un-documented, fictional death toll numbers and imaginary scenarios.

Let’s take a look at a few recent reports starting with an excellent piece at Asia Times today [All Emphasis Mine]:

Iran "nuclear crisis": EU moves towards crude oil ban ~ link EU member states have agreed in principle to ban imports of Iranian crude oil to put pressure on the country over its nuclear programme.

The move is expected to be announced formally at an EU foreign ministers' meeting at the end of January.

China opposed 'unilateral' US sanctions on Iran ~ link ~ China said Wednesday it opposed "unilateral" sanctions against Iran, after US President Barack Obama signed into law new measures targeting the Islamic republic's central bank.

Washington's move came after the United States, Britain and Canada said in November they were slapping additional sanctions on Iran, citing evidence that Tehran is pursuing nuclear weapons.

Obama warned of 'dumb war' with Iran ~ link ~ A group of former US intelligence officials have issued a memorandum to US President Barack Obama, advising him against starting another long “dumb war”, this time against Iran. “Another Long War is not in America's or Israel's interests, whatever Israel's apologists claim,” US Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) wrote in the letter published on the consortiumnews.com website on Wednesday.

In 2002, Obama, then a fierce opponent of the war, delivered a speech lambasting the Iraq war as "dumb," "rash," and a "cynical attempt" by the George W. Bush administration to "shove their own ideological agendas down our throats."

The intelligence officials said the militarists, who “represent one Muslim country after another as major threats to US security,” this time are using a “dubious report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)” to portray Iran as a major threat to the US.
