North Korean leader Kim Jong-il dead - with video ~ link link ~ This sudden event is a classic example of a 'X-factor'...a unplanned event happening that effects other things such as a possible war on Syria/Iran.  Stirling

The official news agency KCNA described one of his sons, Kim Jong-un, as the "great successor" whom North Koreans should unite behind.

Pyongyang's neighbours are on alert fearing instability in the poor and isolated nuclear-armed nation.

West poised to exploit potential Korean crisis ~ link ~ The Council on Foreign Relations, a corporate-financier funded think-tank that represents the collective interests and agenda of Wall Street and London, had in 2009 published an extensive, 52-page report titled, "Preparing for Sudden Change in North Korea."

The report covered "Scenarios for Change in North Korea" and included "managed," "contested," and "failed successions."

North Korea's coming power struggle and the Middle East nuclear race ~ link ~ The sudden death of Kim Jong II, of a heart attack aged 69, Monday, Dec. 19 – even though his youngest son Kim Jong-un was hailed as successor – confronts the world for the first time since the Cold War with a leaderless nuclear power about which it knows almost nothing. Though anointed as heir, his youngest son Kim Jong-un, believed to be 26, is more than likely to be challenged for his claim to power. At present, therefore, no one knows who controls North Korea's nuclear arsenal - any more than the identity of the country's next ruler after the dust settles.
Meanwhile there are pressing questions: Will Kim Jong II's successor follow through on his consent this week to suspend Pyongyang's enriched-uranium nuclear weapons program for 240,000 tonnes food aid from Washington? How will the 1.2 million strong standing army of the North respond to the first actions of South Korea, Japan and US forces in the Far East in placing their armies on alert?

Turkish Prime Minister has cancer ~ link ~ Another 'X-Factor' explodes!   Stirling

Extreme concern was quietly voiced Sunday, Dec. 18, by American and European official circles over the state of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's health – and especially its impact on present and impending events in Syria and other parts of the Middle East, including Iran, debkafile's Western intelligence sources report. Those sources say Erdogan is suffering from Rectosigmoid cancer, but were not sure if it had reached the advanced Stage TIII (spread out of the colon to regional lymph nodes).

They also said they did not know what treatment he had received at the Istanbul hospital where he was first admitted and latterly at the Hacettepe Hospital in Ankara.

Syria signs Arab League deal to allow monitors - with video ~ link ~ Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said the Arab League had accepted amendments demanded by Damascus. The Arab League had threatened to ask the UN Security Council to adopt its peace plan to end the crackdown, which has left more than 5,000 people dead.

Tehran says Arab League plan for Syria is acceptable  ~ link ~ Assad regime signs Arab League deal that calls for int'l monitors, withdrawal of army from towns, starting dialogue with opposition; China voices support for Russian UNSC resolution on Syria.

Iran welcomed as "acceptable" an Arab peace deal signed by Syria on Monday that aims to end nine months of unrest against the rule of Syrian President Bashar Assad, a senior official in Tehran told Iran's Arabic-language Al Alam news channel.

Rebels kill 27 Syrian troops in southern Syria ~ link ~ link ~  Army deserters killed 27 soldiers in southern Syria today, an activist group said, in some of the deadliest attacks on forces loyal to president Bashar al-Assad since the start of an uprising nine months ago.

Teleprompter Reader-in-Chief risks thermonuclear war, scuttles empire ~ link ~ The CIA began what it calls a fourth generational war 7 years ago. In this new doctrine first used against Yugoslavia a violent resistance is organized from within to divide the nation and to bankrupt it before being invaded with a foreign proxy army backed up with NATO air power. The CIA created the PPP Taliban to set off bombs and to kill and maim and to destroy targets inside Pakistan but none inside Afghanistan. To date the PPP Taliban has inflicted 50 billion dollars in economic damage and injured or killed nearly 100,000 people inside Pakistan.

The Pakistani army had run the PPP Taliban out of the country and forced them to take refuge in the coldest mountain range in Afghanistan. The Americans deliberately attacked that border military base on November 26th so the PPP Taliban could flee back across the border to the milder plains of Pakistan. The US and Pakistani armies were constantly in contact for the entire duration of the 2 hour battle.

Gingrich collapses in Iowa as Ron Paul surges to the front ~ link ~ A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows that Ron Paul has taken the lead in the Iowa caucus race, while Newt Gingrich's support is fading fast. A different Gallup poll shows Gringrich still holding the lead, but slipping, while The New York Times has Paul in the lead as well.

Gingrich has seen his numbers in the PPP poll drop from 27 percent to 14 percent in just three weeks, while his favorability rating is now split at 46 percent for to 47 percent against, the worst of any candidate not named Jon Huntsman. That's quite a fall for someone who looked to be running away with the state and taking charge on the national level.

UN Sec.-Gen. Ban condemns excessive force in Cairo clashes ~ link ~ Police and soldiers using batons drove stone-throwing protesters out of Cairo's Tahrir Square, hub of the uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak in February, early on Monday, a Reuters witness said.

Protesters fled down sidestreets, away from sensitive areas where parliament, the cabinet offices and Interior Ministry are located. Security forces have previously cleared the square briefly only to pull back when protesters return in force.

Deadly Cairo clashes stretch into fourth day ~ link ~ The Second Egyptian Revolution has begun!   Stirling
Egyptian security forces clashed for a fourth straight day on Monday with protesters demanding an end to military rule as the death toll rose to 12, despite strong international criticism of the use of force.

Two people were killed in dawn fighting in Cairo's administrative heart as security forces swooped to remove the protesters, health ministry sources said.

We really don't know what happened to the "Dear Leader" Kim. I was making this point to a friend just a hour or so ago. We are quick to assume that what we are told is correct. There may in fact have been a military coup, or maybe not. I have heard that one can cause diseases via a type of scalar warfare, is this true, who knows. Did someone give cancer to Erdogan? It is interesting that these two X-Factors occur at this very specific time in human history. Of course, the cause of one or both may also be spiritual ...either God or Satan...who knows? Stirling
