Greek protestors clash with police in Athens ~ link
Masked youths clashed with riot police outside Greece's parliament and the U.S. Embassy Thursday as thousands of austerity-weary Greeks marched through Athens in an annual commemoration of a bloody student uprising in the 1970s.

Police fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the rioters, and some 60 people were detained for questioning but no injuries were reported.

Police clash with students in Athens ~ link ~ The Thursday demonstration was swelled in numbers as many joined the rally to protest against unpopular austerity measures, aimed at saving the country from its debt crisis, Reuters reported.

More than 30,000 people marched in central Athens beating drums, waving red flags and chanting “EU, IMF out!” in the first test of public defiance against technocrat Prime Minister Lucas Papdemos's new government.

Occupy Wall Street - This Is What Revolution Looks Like ~ link The historian Crane Brinton in his book “Anatomy of a Revolution” laid out the common route to revolution. The preconditions for successful revolution, Brinton argued, are discontent that affects nearly all social classes, widespread feelings of entrapment and despair, unfulfilled expectations, a unified solidarity in opposition to a tiny power elite, a refusal by scholars and thinkers to continue to defend the actions of the ruling class, an inability of government to respond to the basic needs of citizens, a steady loss of will within the power elite itself and defections from the inner circle, a crippling isolation that leaves the power elite without any allies or outside support and, finally, a financial crisis. Our corporate elite, as far as Brinton was concerned, has amply fulfilled these preconditions. But it is Brinton’s next observation that is most worth remembering. Revolutions always begin, he wrote, by making impossible demands that if the government met would mean the end of the old configurations of power. The second stage, the one we have entered now, is the unsuccessful attempt by the power elite to quell the unrest and discontent through physical acts of repression.
I have seen my share of revolts, insurgencies and revolutions, from the guerrilla conflicts in the 1980s in Central America to the civil wars in Algeria, the Sudan and Yemen, to the Palestinian uprising to the revolutions in East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Romania as well as the wars in the former Yugoslavia. George Orwell wrote that all tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but that once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force. We have now entered the era of naked force. The vast million-person bureaucracy of the internal security and surveillance state will not be used to stop terrorism but to try and stop us.

Illegal US Congressional "Supercommittee" pushes secret farm bill that will cost billions ~ link ~ These bought-and-paid-for political whores in Washington are using the US Constitution as toilet paper.  Stirling
The “supercommittee” is the newly-formed (and utterly illegal) committee of 12 members of Congress who engineer new debt-related legislation that’s only allowed an up or down vote by the full Congress. This bypasses the traditional debate process by elected representatives, effectively concentrating the power to shape laws in the hands of a mere dozen members of Congress. The very structure is elitist from the start, and it directly contradicts the United States Constitution.

Because the committee concentrates yet more power in the hands of the few, it is being heavily lobbied by various groups and industries that want more government handouts. The farming industry, of course, is lined up at the trough of government slop just like everyone else, and this secret farm bill could cost taxpayers billions of dollars in government subsidies that are tied to commodities prices (which are extremely volatile and could unexpectedly rise).

Israel may target Iranian civilian infrastructures as part of military strike, report states ~ link ~ Like they targeted Gaza hospitals, schools, civilian power and water plants during the last war on Gaza.  Stirling

On Thursday, however, The Daily Beast quoted U.S. security officials as claiming that a possible Israeli strike would go as far as targeting Iran's civilian infrastructure, including the country's internet and cellphone networks, as well as its electrical grid.

The Daily Beast, quoting what it said "current and former U.S. intelligence officials," claimed that Israel has developed weapons that could imitate a maintenance cellphone signal that commands a cell network to go inactive, "effectively stopping transmissions."

DHS Secret Police Make Arrests at Occupy Portland ~ link ~ This is totally unconstitutional!  Of course, that matters not one bit to the criminals running things in America!   Stirling

Demotix has posted photos showing that the Department of Homeland Security now operates as a secret police force that arrests people at political events, the hallmark of all totalitarian governments.

The Federal Protective Service (FPS) arrested a photographer at Portland’s Terry Shrunk Plaza, which is adjacent to both City Hall and the Edith Green-Wendall Wyatt Federal Building. Under Posse Comitatus, it is illegal for the federal government to collaborate with local law enforcement in the arrest of citizens.

New Obama law could jail 500,000 Americans ~ link ~ ...  new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government.

Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”. First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.
Israeli Defense Minister Barak: Iran is testing uranium and plutonium-based nuclear bombs ~ link ~ Remember, when the Zionists and globalists wanted us to begin a new war against Iraq and we were told that Saddam could hit London in 30 minutes with WMD.   Pure bullshit then; pure bullshit all over again.  The war whores want more war, and more war, and even more war and will not stop until we are all dead!   Stirling
Asia-Pacific: US ramps up Global War Agenda ~ link ~ As if bouncing underlings and lackeys into his gang, the American president has moved on from Honolulu with stopovers in Australia, Indonesia and elsewhere. Given the primary economic power of China in the hemisphere, it might be thought appropriate for Obama to make a cordial visit to Beijing to discuss partnerships and policies to revive the global economy. But no. The omission of China on this major US tour seems to be a deliberate snub to Beijing and a message to the region: that China is to be isolated and ringfenced. This is the stuff of warmongering writ large.

The blatant aggression is naturally smoothed over and made palatable by the Western mainstream media. Reporting on Obama’s unilateral belligerence at the APEC, the Washington Post bemoans: “Try as he might to focus Asian and Pacific leaders on forging new economic partnerships during a regional summit here, President Obama has spent much of his time in private meetings with his counterparts
