Revolutions in North Africa and the Middle East - Who Really Benefits?  Will they continue to spread throughout the world in the wake of global food shortages, global depression, and Austerity Fascism?  by Lord Stirling ~ link

Advanced Biological Warfare (article by Lord Stirling) ~ link ~ I have a link to a free movie on Hulu, BLACK DAWN: THE NEXT PANDEMIC, that is most interesting.  The movie is about the spread of a naturally occurring mutation in the H5N1 virus; a rather nasty mutation that kills up to 10% of those it effects.  I strongly urge people to take the time to view this movie, as it shows the impact of what a single naturally occurring virus mutation can do.  In reality, a global strategic Advanced Biological-based war would be at least ten-fold as bad and more likely a hundred-fold in its impact as the viruses would be military designer-created (recombination DNA) diseases with a much stronger kill ratio (90% or higher fatality level from an infection) and there would likely be many dozens of viruses released at the same time, instead of only one disease.

Before we allow hardliners in Israel take us into yet another war, we need to take a very hard and realistic look at just what a war involving MAD on all sides would mean to Israel, to Europe, to North America and the entire world.

Wisconsin Latest: Police vow no forcible removals as protesters hold ground in Capitol ~ link ~ Wisconsin state police say they will make no forcible removals of protesters from the state Capitol on Sunday evening.

“A decision has been made to do what they’ve been doing all week long and that is to do everything to keep things peaceful and keep people safe,” Peg Schmidt, spokeswoman for the police command in the Capitol, told the Wisconsin State Journal Sunday evening. “There’s not going to be any forcible removal.”

Officials say they hope to clear the building through voluntary compliance, though the possibility of protesters leaving of their own volition seems nebulous at best. Protesters continue to sing and chant "We Shall Overcome" and engage in ad hoc drumming (choppy video of the singing taken using a mobile phone follows this article).

Unrest in Sohar 27 Feb 2011 Vehicles were set ablaze during Sunday's disturbances in Sohar
Hundreds had gathered for a second day in the industrial city of Sohar to call for political reforms. At least five people were said to have been wounded when police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters.

Until now, Oman had mostly been spared the unrest which has affected other Arab states in recent months.

Tunisian PM Mohammed Gannouchi resigns over protests ~ link
Tunisia's Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi speaks at the National Assembly in Tunis on 7 February 2011 Mohammed Ghannouchi was seen as too closely linked to the old regime
Mr Ghannouchi is seen as being too close to former President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, who was toppled in an uprising last month. Mr Ghannouchi, 69, had served under Mr Ben Ali since 1989.

"After having taken more than one week of thinking, I became convinced, and my family shared my conviction, and decided to resign. It is not fleeing my responsibilities; I have been shouldering my responsibilities since 14 January [when Mr Ben Ali fled]," he said. "I am not ready to be the person who takes decisions that would end up causing casualties," he added. "This resignation will serve Tunisia, and the revolution and the future of Tunisia," he added.

Libya unrest sparks refugee crisis at Tunisia border ~ link
An Egyptian flees Libya at the Ras Jdir border post in Tunisia Thousands of Egyptians have been streaming into Tunisia from Libya
Libya's border with Tunisia is being overrun with migrants, many of them from Egypt, fleeing turmoil in Libya, aid workers say. A UN refugee official told the BBC that 20,000 Egyptians were stranded and needed food and shelter. Many are sleeping in the open despite the cold. Some Egyptian refugees staged protests shouting: "We want to go home."

About 100,000 people have fled anti-government unrest in Libya over the past week, the UN estimates.

US Libyan Intervention ~ link Take the time to read all of this at the link.  The 'Domino Revolutions' are not an accident.  It is not a question of there being legitimate reasons to overthrow many of the leaders, but as in just about all revolutions, there are outside powers setting things up, and controlling events as much as possible, for ends that are not for the interests of the people.   Stirling
Libya's Qaddafi stands between the United States and their campaign of destabilization and regime change across the oil laden region. Not only does this stall the Anglo-American agenda, it also sets a precedence of defiance other sovereign nations may duplicate under similar US-backed instability.

There is no doubt that the unrest in Tunisia, Egypt, and now Libya is US-backed. Libyan opposition leader Ibrahim Sahad of the National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL) is literally sitting in front of the White House in Washington D.C. giving interviews, repeating verbatim the talking points covered by propaganda outfits like BBC, CNN, Fox News, and AlJazeera. Meanwhile, a myriad of US organizations are working in tandem with Sahad's calls for UN, EU, US, and NATO intervention.

What form might intervention take and is there a possibility that US military support is already underway? According to Brookings Institute's report "Which Path to Persia?" it is very possible military operations and support were planned well ahead of time.

US oligarchy attacks Middle Class ~ link
Protesters cheer during a rally in support of Wisconsin workers
The American middle class is being attacked by an oligarchy, who wants to control economy, as Wisconsin protests the plan to constrain public sector unions, a US expert says.

The demonstration against the controversial move to curb power of labor unions and lay off thousands of public servants in the US state of Wisconsin has been driven by the middle classes who say they are witnessing a dramatic decline in unions and are outraged by an attack on public sectors, Jennifer Loewenstein, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, told Press TV on Sunday.

On Saturday, about 100,000 people converged in the Wisconsin State Capitol to show their anger at the Republican governors' decision to strip public sector unions of most collective bargaining rights in areas of healthcare coverage, pensions and other benefits.

The demonstration, which was one of the biggest rallies since the Vietnam War, has taken place on the character of revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt whose autocratic leaders had control of vast areas of the economy in their countries.

When asked about the fact that five percent of the US population control 85 percent of the productive wealth, Loewenstein stated that "It's unbelievable, in fact, how much the middle class… is being attacked by an oligarchy, basically, of people who want to control the nations' economy."

"Out of Every Dollar that Funds Wisconsin's Pension and Health Insurance Plans for State Workers, 100 Cents (100%) Comes from the State Workers" ~ link ~ This proves that this is NOT about state budget balancing but is simply a raw fascist attempt to gut the Middle Class of America.   Stirling

That is the point. While the governor of Wisconsin is busy trying to shift the blame to the workers in an effort to put an end to collective bargaining, the reality is that it was the state who punted on this – not the employees.

Further, by the state employee unions agreeing to the deal proposed by Walker on their benefits (as they have despite Walker’s refusal to accept it) they are taking on much - and possibly all – of the obligation out of their own pockets.

As a result, the taxpayers do not contribute to the public employee pension programs so much as serve as insurers. If their elected officials have been sloppy , the taxpayers must stand behind it. But if the market continues to perform as it has been performing this past year, don’t be surprised if the funding crisis begins to recede. If it does, what will you say then?
Of course, if you are bearish on the economy - as I am - then this last sentence may seem moot. But Ungar's points that this was bargained-for insurance, and that the state - and not the employees - was responsible for the shortfall, remains.

And as I've previously noted, the little guy shouldn't be asked to sacrifice unless the biggest banks, giant corporations, and top 1% of wealthiest Americans are simultaneously asked to sacrifice.

CNN, FOX News and MSNBC ignore 100,000 Wisconsin protesters ~ link ~ The hidden powers not only know that massive numbers of people now get their news from non-traditional sources; in fact, they are counting on it.  How better to help stroke the fires of the coming revolution, that they intend to spread throughout the world.  'From Chaos Comes Order' is one of their mottoes.  They are using the Hegelican Dialetic to achieve their strategic goals regarding a complete reordering of the world into their global high-tech slave state - the New World Order; Thesis (Problem) - Antithesis (Reaction) - Synthesis (Solution).  Stirling

Union supporters organized rallies from New York to Los Angeles in a show of solidarity as the protest in Madison entered its 12th straight day and attracted its largest crowd yet: more than 70,000 people. Hundreds banged on drums and screamed into bullhorns inside, while others braved frigid weather and snowfall during a rally that spilled into city streets.

Signatories to the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) demand "immediate" military action.
Independent Senator Joseph Lieberman wants the US to arm Libyan rebels [GALLO/GETTY]
In a distinct echo of the tactics they pursued to encourage US intervention in the Balkans and Iraq, a familiar clutch of neo-conservatives appealed Friday for the United States and NATO to "immediately" prepare military action to help bring down the regime of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and end the violence that is believed to have killed well over a thousand people in the past week.

The appeal, which came in the form of a letter signed by 40 policy analysts, including more than a dozen former senior officials who served under President George W. Bush, was organised and released by the Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI), a two-year-old neo-conservative group that is widely seen as the successor to the more-famous – or infamous – Project for the New American Century (PNAC).

Among the letter's signers were former Bush deputy defence secretary Paul Wolfowitz; Bush's top global democracy and Middle East adviser; Elliott Abrams; former Bush speechwriters Marc Thiessen and Peter Wehner; Vice President Dick Cheney's former deputy national security adviser, John Hannah, as well as FPI's four directors: Weekly Standard editor William Kristol; Brookings Institution fellow Robert Kagan; former Iraq Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman Dan Senor; and former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy and Ambassador to Turkey, Eric Edelman. It was Kagan and Kristol who co-founded and directed PNAC in its heyday from 1997 to the end of Bush's term in 2005.

The letter comes amid growing pressure on Obama, including from liberal hawks, to take stronger action against Gaddafi.
Two prominent senators whose foreign policy views often reflect neo-conservative thinking, Republican John McCain and Independent Democrat Joseph Lieberman, called Friday in Tel Aviv for Washington to supply Libyan rebels with arms, among other steps, including establishing a no-fly zone over the country

Is Libya the New Iraq?  US Prepares Libyan Invasion ~ link ~ Many signs are pointing to the potential U.S. military invasion of Libya, much like how the U.S. invaded Iraq for oil, to topple Saddam and replace him with a brand new puppet dictator.

Obama announced that he will send CFR member and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William J. Burns to Europe and the Middle East. According to Obama, Mr. Burns will “intensify our consultation with allies and partners.” In other words Burns will serve as the point man ahead of the coming intervention in Libya, where there is around 46 billion barrels of estimated oil reserves.

Iraq "Day of Rage" protests shake US occupation regime ~ link ~ Tens of thousands protested in cities throughout Iraq yesterday against the economic oppression and corrupt officials imposed by the US occupation regime, as well as the US occupation itself.

Complaining of joblessness, worsening electricity outages, food shortages, and rising food prices, they denounced or demanded the resignation of several national and local officials. Even though Iraq has the world’s second-largest oil reserves, social conditions are atrocious. The official unemployment rate is over 15 percent (in reality much higher), large parts of Iraq have only a few hours of electricity a day, and the country is still occupied by 47,000 US troops—with Iraq’s oil fields now largely in the hands of Western energy firms.

Iraqi security forces fired on protestors in several of the at least 17 cities where protests took place. Fifteen demonstrators were confirmed killed and at least 130 were wounded. Despite warnings from Iraqi officials, there were no suicide bombings or attacks by anti-US forces on the demonstrators.

Muammar Gaddafi's "voluptuous" nurse and close confidante has fled Libya for her native Ukraine as the Libyan leader's tenuous grip on power weakens by the hour.
Galyna Kolotnytska arrived in Kiev early on Sunday morning on a Ukrainian defence ministry aircraft that evacuated 185 people from the country, Ukraine's Segodnya newspaper reported.

Kolotnytska, 38, was described in US diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks in December as a "voluptuous blonde", one of Gaddafi's closest confidantes and possibly his lover.

A realistic appraisal of the Situation in Christchurch from a NZ source ~ link ~ It gets worse by the day!

The body count is climbing, as expected, but it's the survivors that are the real worry. The amount of shock experienced by the victims is beginning to really show now, as we go into day 5 after the disaster. The whole city rests on a pile of wet sand which sinks each time there is anoither tremor. There are continuing after shocks - one every few minutes, some greater than others - which have reduced morale to a very low ebb. No one is sleeping. Many have not had washing facilities for the past 5 days and water is really difficult to obtain. It's not a lack of supply, but the difficulty in reaching it with smashed roads and liquifaction preventing car movment.

Toilets are non- existent and people are having to use their garden - if they have one, or a bucket with lime, if they can find it. How anyone with little children is coping I really don't know. I suspect they were the first group to leave the city. After their September experience, I suggest no one with a young family would stay any longer than necessary. Just pack valuables into the car and be prepared for a long drive!

Top US lawmaker sounds alarm over Syria nukes ~ link ~ What total bullshit.  American Congress whores compete against one another to suck up, as much as possible, to Israel and AIPAC.  This earns the Congressman the 'not so coveted' BS Flag Award, twice.  Stirling
A top US lawmaker pressed President Barack Obama on Thursday to impose new sanctions on Syria after photographs emerged suggesting its secret nuclear program was broader than previously revealed.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said she was "gravely concerned" after a Washington think tank published satellite photos that appeared to show Syrian efforts to conceal a second suspected nuclear site allegedly linked to a reactor bombed by Israel in 2007.

South Korea drops leaflets into North Korea telling of Egypt revolution ~ link ~ South Korea's military has been dropping leaflets into North Korea about democracy protests in Egypt, a legislator said on Friday, but doubts lingered it would trigger calls for change in the tightly controlled country.

As part of a psychological campaign, the South Korean military also sent food, medicines and radios for residents in a bid to encourage North Koreans to think about change, a conservative South Korean parliament member, Song Young-sun, said.

Pakistan and China to hold joint military exercises in 2011 ~ link ~ Pakistan and China will hold two joint military exercises in 2011, a Pakistani senior military leader said Tuesday. The two exercises, one army drill and one air force one, will be held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, said General Khalid Shameem Wynne, chairman of Pakistan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.

Wynne, who is paying a five-day visit to China, told reporters that the two countries will also participate in a multinational navy drill in March.

Iran suffers major setback at nuclear powerplant ~ link But nuclear experts said the giant reactor, Iran’s first nuclear power plant, now threatens to become a major embarrassment, as engineers remove 163 fuel rods from its core.

Iran gave no reason for the unexpected fuel unloading, but it has previously admitted that the Stuxnet computer worm infected the Bushehr reactor. On Friday, computer experts debated whether Stuxnet was responsible for the surprising development.

Liquidity Glut At US Banks May Ultimately Swamp Dollar ~ link ~ This is important.  How you create and maintain an economic depression or recession is by cutting back on lending.  The US banks have a massive amount of money on hand, that they are not lending out, even to those companies and individuals who have good credit.  We are being manipulated folks!  Those on top of the banking system in America (the global banking cartel) are deliberately destroying the American and global economies, and the bought-and-paid-for political whores in Washington (in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government) are doing nothing to help the nation and its people!  Stirling
While inflation is still historically low, U.S. bank reserves have ballooned to roughly $1.3 trillion.

Corporate profits soaring thanks to record unemployment ~ link ~ In a January 2009 ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos, then President-elect Barack Obama said fixing the economy required shared sacrifice, "Everybody’s going to have to give. Everybody’s going to have to have some skin in the game." (1)

For the past two years, American workers submitted to the President’s appeal—taking steep pay cuts despite hectic productivity growth. By contrast, corporate executives have extracted record profits by sabotaging the recovery on every front—eliminating employees, repressing wages, withholding investment, and shirking federal taxes.

The global recession increased unemployment in every country, but the American experience is unparalleled. According to a July OECD report, the U.S. accounted for half of all job losses among the 31 richest countries from 2007 to mid-2010. (2) The rise of U.S. unemployment greatly exceeded the fall in economic output. Aside from Canada, U.S. GDP actually declined less than any other rich country, from mid-2008 to mid 2010. (3)

Another Insurgent Candidate Takes On The Establishment In Kentucky ~ link ~  Kentucky stepped into the national spotlight when the state’s voters stunned the establishment by electing Rand Paul to the US Senate. His opponent was the anointed golden boy, backed and endorsed by senate powerbroker Mitch McConnell and neo-con kingpin Dick Cheney. Kentuckians, angry at the abuses of the establishment, stood up for liberty and Paul won by a landslide.

Now that we're in the political off-season, not many people are paying attention to the Gubernatorial race in Kentucky -- but maybe they should be.  In the Commonwealth of Kentucky, an attractive anti-establishment candidate, Phil Moffett, is looking to independent-minded voters to help make him governor.  Liberty activists, who understand that genuine change can only happen in local politics, are energized to pounce on the off-season opportunity to leave the establishment in awe of people power once again.

Ireland's Prelude to Revolution ~ link ~ Ireland's Fine Gael party will take control of the government after winning in yesterday's elections.  A few weeks ago, they were threatening to give haircuts to bank bondholders, but now most "serious" people in government and the media believe this will never actually happen.  However, the wildcard in all of this is the Irish people themselves -- they're expecting real change, not half measures.  And some of them are openly talking of a "revolution."

It remains to be seen whether the moment of truth has finally arrived for Ireland's bank bondholders.  As predicted, Ireland's opposition party, Fine Gael (pronounced "feena gail"), did very well in yesterday's elections and will likely form a coalition government with Ireland's Labour party.  As we reported earlier, Fine Gael played to voters' anger over the bailouts by engaging in a good deal of tough talk about unilaterally restructuring the debts of Ireland's bailed out banks.

However, the tough talk will likely turn out to be nothing but talk.  Fine Gael's pre-election threats to bank bondholders were promised to be carried out only if they were unable to restructure the terms of the IMF "bailout."  Such restructuring would only amount to tinkering around the edges of the agreement, not rejecting it outright.  The main point of contention amongst "serious" people has been the 6% interest rate Ireland was saddled with, not the obvious injustice of making the Irish people debt slaves for the benefit of Deutsche Bank and Soc. Gen.
It's a little-known fact, but "nuanced" is etymologically related to an obscure Old Irish word meaning "empty."  As in, "empty promises and idle threats cynically used to fool the Irish people into voting for us, with the hope that we don't actually have to do anything so bold as mess with our banking masters who, if we're being honest, are really in charge of this country."

The Wall St. Journal today ("Irish Voters Reject Government, But Accept Austerity Program") doesn't even entertain the possibility that yesterday's election was a popular rejection of the bailouts, characterizing it instead simply as a rejection of the outgoing ruling party, Fianna Fáil (pronounced "feena fall"):

Rothschild Bank and Goldman Sachs are both on the List of Bondholders getting US Taxpayer Billions in Ireland ~ link ~ That's a two-for-one special for the global banksters; they get to screw both the Irish and American people in one crooked deal!   Stirling
Anglo-Irish Bank did not represent a systemic risk to the Irish economy, it wasn’t a high street bank like AIB or the Bank of Ireland. If it had been allowed to go the way of Lehmans the only losers would have been shareholders and bondholders. The Irish state stepped in and nationalised a bank that was basically run by crooks lending to property speculators.
  • The Irish people are taking losses that should rightly have been shouldered by bondholders.
Every child in Ireland is being bequeathed a huge debt at birth to protect the interests of foreign, mainly German, bondholders – why?  Guido was once a bond trader, it was always understood that sometimes the bond issuer defaults.
  • That is the risk investors take.
So why is Dublin’s political establishment so keen to protect foreign investors at the expense of future generations?  Guido has obtained the list of foreign Anglo-Irish bondholders as at the close of business tonight.  These are the people whom Dublin’s politicians really seem to care about:

Irish Tsunami end 60 Years of Fianna Fail rule following Banker Bailout Fury ~ link ~ So is everything about to disintegrate, or will the status quo continue after all is said and done?
Dessie Shiels, an independent candidate in Donegal, said: "People have not been given the basic right of deciding whether or not they should have their taxes increased in order to repay bondholders who have lent to the banks."

David McWilliams, an economist and former official at the Ireland's Central Bank, has led calls for a popular vote under Article 27 of the Irish constitution, which requires on a matter of "such national importance that the will of the people ought to be ascertained".

"We have to re-negotiate everything," he said. "Obviously, the first way to do this is to make them aware that if they force us to pay everything, we will default and they will get nothing. So they had better get a little bit of something, than all of nothing. To make this financial pill easier to swallow, we must take the initiative politically. We can do this via a referendum.
However, just like in MENA, the Irish people, who have already sacrificed a part of their pension to keep the kleptocratic oligarchy fully funded and with another year of record bonuses, is increasingly ready and willing to throw the dice:
"If the Irish people hold a referendum on the bank debts now, we can go to the EU with a mandate from the people which says No. This will allow our politicians to play hard-ball, because to do otherwise would be an anti-democratic endgame."

Declan Ganley, the Irish businessman who led the 2008 No vote to the Lisbon Treaty, said Ireland must "have the balls" to threaten debt default and withdrawal from the single currency.

"We have a hostage, it is called the euro," he said. "The euro is insolvent. The only question is whether Ireland should be sacrificed to keep the Ponzi scheme going. We have to have a Plan B to the misnamed bailout, which is to go back to the Irish Punt."
And should that happen, the beinning of the end of the global Ponzi will be a fact. After so much posturing, will Ireland finally have the guts to what is right, or will nothing more than empty Dublin rhetoric rule the day even as the African revolutions spread to all middle east countries, and then to France...
