Advanced Biological Warfare (article by Lord Stirling) ~ link ~ I have a link to a free movie on Hulu, BLACK DAWN: THE NEXT PANDEMIC, that is most interesting.  The movie is about the spread of a naturally occurring mutation in the H5N1 virus; a rather nasty mutation that kills up to 10% of those it effects.  I strongly urge people to take the time to view this movie, as it shows the impact of what a single naturally occurring virus mutation can do.  In reality, a global strategic Advanced Biological-based war would be at least ten-fold as bad and more likely a hundred-fold in its impact as the viruses would be military designer-created (recombination DNA) diseases with a much stronger kill ratio (90% or higher fatality level from an infection) and there would likely be many dozens of viruses released at the same time, instead of only one disease.

Before we allow hardliners in Israel take us into yet another war, we need to take a very hard and realistic look at just what a war involving MAD on all sides would mean to Israel, to Europe, to North America and the entire world.

I wish to apologize to my readers.  Yesterday was a very full day for me.  An old friend had a heart attack the night before and after teaching I went to see him at the hospital ICU.  The father of another friend died.  One of my pets gave birth (one died; one lived). I had updated the news blog late at night and just when I was about done, I had a crash and lost almost everything I had linked.  It was in the wee hours of the morning, so I just went to bed.  I will try to correct things today with some good links.  God Bless.

Army deploys more tanks in Cairo ~ link ~
Egyptian anti-Mubarak protesters camp out next to Army tanks and armored vehicles near Liberation Square in Cairo, Egypt, Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011.

Reports say Egyptian armed forces have stationed a large column of tanks and mechanized infantry vehicles in and around Cairo's Liberation Square.Reports also say hundreds of plain clothes police and vigilantes have stepped up their crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in various parts of Egypt.
It comes as thousands of protesters are camping outside the parliament as part of their campaign to topple President Hosni Mubarak. Pro-democracy protesters have also attempted to block the parliament building.

Opposition parties plan a massive march towards the Presidential Palace on Friday.

Egyptian opposition leaders say the revolution will expand and Mubarak's regime has to go. Opposition leader Ayman Nour has told press TV that the Egyptian revolution will go on until it topples Mubarak and his associates. Tensions are running high across the country as protests continue for the 16th straight day.

Hundreds of people have been killed or wounded in two days of clashes between police and demonstrators in the southern Kharga city.

Hundreds of protesters have been killed and wounded in Kharga in southern Egypt, as the nationwide revolution in the crisis-hit country enters its 16th consecutive day.
Egyptian security forces targeted the anti-government protesters with live bullets on Wednesday, killing at least five protesters and wounding hundreds of others.

Cairo's Liberation Square remained flooded with demonstrators who call on embattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to step down, a Press TV correspondent reported.

The independent organization Human Rights Watch has so far put the death toll at almsot 300, after visiting just nine hospitals in troubled Egypt.

As Egyptians are out on the streets for the 16th straight day, newly appointed Vice President Omar Suleiman says the government cannot tolerate the protests for long.

Suleiman made the remark as over 50,000 protesters on Tuesday blocked newly-appointed Premier Ahmed Shafiq from entering his office in the Egyptian capital, calling for his immediate resignation and those of all the others in the cabinet.

Egypt Revolutionaries gain ground - with video ~ link ~ The Egyptian cabinet building in Cairo has been evacuated and officials relocated after pro-democracy protesters gathered outside, sources tell Al Jazeera.
Pro-democracy demonstrations are gaining momentum in the Egyptian capital, with some protesters moving from Tahrir [Liberation] Square to camp out in the area outside the parliament buildings. Protesters are demanding the assembly's immediate dissolution. Wednesday's developments came as public rallies calling for Hosni Mubarak to hand over power immediately entered their sixteenth day.

The president's message has thus far been that he will not leave until his term expires in September.
As a gesture of goodwill, 34 political prisoners, including members of the banned opposition group, Muslim Brotherhood, were reportedly released over the last two days.

The government seems to be scrambling under pressure from major powers and pro-democracy supporters, Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reported from Cairo.

Egypt Revolution: Parliament rally as US seeks progress - with video ~ link ~ We are close either to the Revolution meeting with success, or more likely to considerable violence.  Those fools in the Israeli government who are seeking the current regime to stay (perhaps without Mubarak) are nuts!  The longer and worst the revolution goes on the worst it will be for Israel, but once again they seem to be blinded to the truth even when it involves their survival.   Stirling

BBC's Jim Muir: "Vice-President Omar Suleiman has hinted if the protests go on much longer martial law might be brought in" Anti-government protesters in Egypt are continuing their occupation of Cairo's Tahrir Square for a 16th day and have blocked the entrance to parliament. There are reports of strikes and industrial unrest around the country.

Egyptian Vice-President Omar Suleiman has warned of the risk of a coup d'etat if constitutional reform efforts fail.

At the Suez Canal, the state-owned trade link between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, about 6,000 workers have gone on strike. A senior official quoted by Reuters news agency said the action would not affect the passage of ships.

CAIRO: Over 1,000 young men and women began a sit-in outside the People’s Assembly (PA) headquarters in downtown Cairo Tuesday evening demanding the ouster and prosecution of President Hosni Mubarak and his aides. By Wednesday afternoon, they were few thousands. Most of the protesters do not belong to any political groups or parties.

“We chose this area because of its strategic importance … and to ban the MPs who won seats by vote rigging from entering the parliament building,” Ahmed Abul-Fadl told Daily News Egypt. For Ahmed Kamal, 23, student of computer engineering, the place had a symbolic significance. “Being here means a lot because they were shooting us here on Jan. 28 and now we’ve taken this place.”

Protesters demanding the overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak appeared on Wednesday to have recaptured the initiative in their battle with his government, demonstrating a new ability to mobilize thousands to take over Cairo’s streets beyond Tahrir Square and to spark labor unrest.

As reports filtered in of strikes and unrest spreading to other parts of the city and the country, the government seemed to dig in deeper. Mr. Mubarak’s handpicked successor, Vice President Omar Suleiman, warned Tuesday that the only alternative to constitutional talks was a “coup” and added: “We don’t want to deal with Egyptian society with police tools.”

Protesters and eye witnesses said they saw two motorbikes on fire, while the protesters had burned the 40-meter high glass edifice of the governorate headquarters.

As Week Three Begins, Egypt Protests Growing Again ~ link ~ People have been predicting some sort of an agreement that will bring the uprising to an end for several days now, but as the anti-government protests in Egypt enter their third week, they seem to be growing again. The release of “missing” Google executive Wael Ghonim appears to be part of the reason, as he revealed his kidnapping by the Mubarak government and his detention for 12 days in blindfolded isolation, adding to the belief that the US-backed government is not, despite US claims to the contrary, making meaningful reforms.

China police stop spread of Egypt news ~ link Police in southwest China have barred activists from distributing leaflets about anti-government protests in Egypt and Tunisia, deeming the news too sensitive, one dissident said Wednesday.
Activists in Guizhou province tried to hand out information about the demonstrations over the weekend, but police told them this was an "unusual period" and gave them 3,000 yuan ($450) to stop, Chen Xi told AFP.

The police paid the money to compensate for losses incurred from the printing costs, and when the activists tried to distribute more information in Guiyang city on Monday, police again barred them from doing so, Chen said.

Israel's Barak in US for top-level talks ~ link ~ Keep in mind a couple things.  One, Hillary Clinton has called all top US diplomatic personal home for an unprecedented meeting; Secondly, that vast war-level amount of jet fuel we 'sold' Israel has a shelf life that will expire in March.  Barak, currently Defense Minister and former Prime Minister, is a real hard liner in a Cabinet of hard line nuts.  Bibi 666 Netanyahu and Barak and others intend to begin a war with Iran in the near future.  General Ashkenazi, who stopped a war from happening on his watch in 2010 is now leaving office and the ultra hard line general that ran the bloody Gaza War is replacing him.  Events are moving towards a General Middle East War/WWIII/Armageddon and it looks to be sooner rather than later.   Stirling
Barak left Israel on Tuesday for a two-day visit to Washington and New York, and is expected to meet US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defence Secretary Robert Gates and National Security chief Tom Donilon, his office said.

He is to brief Congress on Wednesday and later meet with senior White House adviser Dennis Ross alongside a number of other top defence and intelligence officials, his office said, without saying what would be on the agenda.

Israeli Air Force bombs civilian medical warehouse in Gaza ~ link ~ link ~ video link ~   It it this type of evil crazy crap that is driving the Middle East to war and Israel to its own destruction.   Stirling
A Palestinian human right center has denounced the Israeli air raid against a medical warehouse in Gaza earlier in the day. Sawasiyah Human Rights Center said in a statement that this Israeli action came amid harsh health and humanitarian conditions witnessed by the Palestinian health sector in Gaza especially in light of the shortage in medical supplies for the cancer patients.
It added that the suffering is intensifying day after day following Israel's stubbornace and continued closure of ports and crossings for more than four years as well as the deprivation of Palestinians from necessity of life and their right for treatment.
Ten Palestinians were injured in Gaza City and Khan Younis, after several Israeli air strikes, source said on Wednesday.
Eight civilians were wounded during the attack, including two children, three women along with three men who were transferred to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, medical sources added.

Inter-Korean military talks collapse ~ link ~ Military talks aimed at easing high tensions between North and South Korea collapsed Wednesday when the North's delegation walked out, Seoul's defence ministry said. It was the first cross-border dialogue since the North's deadly shelling of a South Korean island on November 23, which briefly sparked fears of war.

A ministry spokesman told AFP the North's negotiators crossed the borderline 10 minutes after walking out of the meeting. "They even failed to discuss when to meet again," he said. "Under the current situation, we can say the talks have collapsed."

Do we need a Foreign Policy ~ link ~There’s always some reasonable-sounding justification for the US government’s appalling immorality: if we don’t prop up Stalin, Hitler will conquer the world, as Feith and the remaining Stalinists on earth would have it. If we don’t prop up Mubarak, “chaos” will ensue, as Hillary Clinton would have it. If we don’t invade a country that has never attacked us and couldn’t even if they wanted to, then we’ll be zapped by “weapons of mass destruction” – and “we don’t want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud,” now do we?

This kind of moral calculus, when engaged in by individuals, is called sociopathic (or criminal) behavior: when engaged in by governments, however, we call it “foreign policy.”

US House of Representatives Unexpectedly Defeats Patriot Act ~ link ~ Hot Damn! Some good news for once!  But be aware that the evil forces that give us the 9/11 False Flag Attack are capable of doing something really crazy again.   Stirling

The newly-minted House Republican leadership botched a vote Tuesday night when it presumed it had the necessary support to reauthorize the Patriot Act, the anti-terrorism law imposed after September 11th. The GOP expected little trouble with the bill. So Republicans brought the Patriot Act to the floor under a special procedure that requires a two-thirds vote for passage. It's a maneuver that's typically reserved for non-controversial legislation or bills that carry wide support.

Renewing that Patriot Act had certainly had wide support. 277 members voted in favor of the measure compared to just 148 nays. But that's short of the two-thirds supermajority. Which means the House defeated the bill. With 425 members voting, 284 yea votes were necessary to cross the two-thirds threshold for passage. 26 Republicans voted against renewing the law.

Democrats opposed to the Patriot Act were gleeful at the GOP miscalculation. "Look at the ‘Don't Tread on Me flag.' It doesn't say don't tread on me, but it's okay if you spy," said Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), one of the most ardent opponents of the Patriot Act. "What the Republican leadership didn't count on is that they have some new members who are freshmen who are conservative, libertarian, who really do believe in civil liberties." Eight Republicans whom the GOP regards as freshmen voted against the reauthorization. That's precisely the number of yea votes Republicans needed to pass the bill.

Patriot Act Extension Fails in House ~ linkIn an unexpected outcome, on February 8 the House of Representatives failed to pass legislation [PDF-Full Text] authorizing nine additional months for three surveillance provisions of the Patriot Act that were set to expire.

The measure failed when 26 Republicans joined Democrats in opposing the extension.

The provisions affected include those authorizing roving wiretaps, FBI access to business records, and surveillance of non-U.S. terrorist suspects.

House Patriot Act Extension Derailed by GOP Freshmen Opposition ~ link ~ In a stunning turn of events, the House of Representatives has narrowly defeated the effort to “fast track” the USA Patriot Act extension for an additional 10 months. The vote needed a two-thirds majority, but managed to only get 277-148.

Below is a full list of the Republicans who opposed the extension, with freshmen in bold.

Senator Rand Paul "Maybe We Can Fight Terrorism With a Smaller Military" - video ~ link ~ Good One!

Less Bang for the Buck - Military spending drains and distorts the civilian economy ~ link ~ We sometimes hear it said that the military budget is too low. As of this printing the Pentagon absorbs the equivalent of 3.3 percent of GDP; some say this figure should be increased to at least 4 percent. That figure sounds moderate and reasonable, especially since it has reached more than twice that level at various times in the past. But the problem with determining the adequacy of the military budget by measuring it as a share of GDP is that the two figures have no logical connection to each other. One would think, instead, that a reasonable metric for determining the military budget would involve some calculation of what expenditures were necessary to defend the United States from potential aggressors. Whatever that figure turns out to be, its ratio to GDP is of no relevance at all.

A better way to measure the U.S. government’s military spending would be to compare it to that of other countries. As of this writing, the U.S. government’s military expenditures equals the sum of what all the other countries in the world spend. Economist Robert Higgs wonders: “Why can’t the Department of Defense today defend the country for a smaller annual amount than it needed to defend the country during the Cold War, when we faced an enemy with large, modern armed forces and thousands of accurate, nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles?”

Pollard Espionage Ring Still Unfolding ~ link ~ Almost one year ago Victor Gilinsky and Roger J. Mattson penned the stunning article “Revisiting the NUMEC Affair” in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. It describes how in the 1960s Israeli agents and their U.S. collaborators stole highly enriched uranium from the Pennsylvania NUMEC plant for Israel’s first atomic weapons.

The two former Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials’ exposé reveals how 337 kilograms of material, enough for several weapons, made their way into Israel’s Dimona nuclear weapons facility likely packed in the same sealed containers as lawful radioactive agricultural and scientific equipment shipments. It cites a secret CIA diversion briefing held at the NRC, credible official audits of materials lost to processing waste and absorption versus diversion, accounts of CIA recovery in Israel of HEU traces matching the Portsmouth signature of NUMEC’s government-supplied uranium, and the plant owner’s deep and ongoing ties to Israeli intelligence case officers and suspicious activities.

Inadvertently, these expert nuclear diversion researchers make a very strong case against releasing Jonathan J. Pollard, currently sentenced to life in prison for spying for Israel. In 1986 espionage investigators discovered and alerted the press that Pollard’s handler, Rafael Eitan, shared the same birth date as a supposed “chemist, Ministry of Defense, Israel” who visited NUMEC on Sept. 10, 1968, as part of a “four- man team.” But it is now clear that the entirety of the Israeli spy network of agents and operations has not yet been fully revealed.

Can Jesse Ventura force a TSA submission ~ linklink ~
Desperation is when once-proud and free Americans like me are reduced to pleading, "Save us, Jesse Ventura, you're our only hope."

It's over three months now since the unelected political appointees heading the
TSA made their sexually abusive Hobson's choice mandatory for American airline customers: either step through a scanner whose potentially cancerous radiation lets TSA agents view your nude body, or adopt guilty-criminal, hands-in-the-air poses, while agents grope you head to toe, genitalia included.

Two months since Homeland Security Secretary
Janet Napolitano suggested expanding this to all forms of mass transit. Eight weeks since the House of Representatives voted 417 to 3 in favour of House Resolution 28, supporting exactly that TSA expansion. And mere days since Barack Obama joked about the patdowns in his state of the union address. (Easy for him to laugh, as one of the privileged few exempt from the humiliations TSA imposes on his countrymen.)

Texas warned again of more rolling power blackouts because of another arctic blast forecasted in Texas ~ link Texas might have to freeze again tonight as another arctic blast blows across the lone star state. The ERCOT said more rolling blackouts might be needed to avoid overload of the power grid. The people of Texas are advised to conserve electricity during peak hours to avoid these rolling blackouts. This is hogwash and hope Texans get mad.
There is no reason for these rolling blackouts. Last week Alex Jones reported why these rolling blackouts too place last week in the morning hours on February 2,2011 were White House tried to smear Prison Planet for exposing the EPA Greenhouse regulation scam.
Texans should not tolerate this nonsense. We have enough Power plants in Texas that can more to provide to meet the demand for severe cold weather conditions. The White House would rather see Texans freeze to stop those greenhouse gases getting into the air than make sure the people have adequate electricity to meet to brave the cold.

18 US Cities whose suburbs are rapidly turning into slums ~ link ~ When will sufficient Americans wake up and throw the bums out of power???  Stirling

When recession struck in the past, American cities became centers of poverty and crime. This time, expect dereliction in the suburbs.
A recent report by Brookings found the rise in poverty has been centered in the suburbs. Between 2000 and 2008, suburbs in America's largest cities saw their poor population grow by 25 percent -- almost five times faster than urban poverty growth.

Poverty is moving for several reasons. First, low-wage jobs are shifting away from cities, drawing blue collar workers with them. Second, while employers move to the suburbs, they do NOT move to poor suburbs, which means no relief for these areas. Third, 'the gentry' are moving back to the cities and driving up prices.

US Midwest braces for new round of snow ~ linkA large swathe of the US South and Midwest still digging out from last week's huge snowfall faced more wintry weather Wednesday as the fifth major storm of the season forced several states to close schools and kept many residents homebound.

The powerful winter storm began coating parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas late Tuesday, barely a week after millions of Americans dug out from one of the largest storms since the 1950s massive storm that dumped snow, ice and sleet over a huge stretch of America's midsection. A total of nine states faced a winter storm warning, complete with bone-chilling temperatures and a headache-inducing wintry mix. Up to 20 inches (51 centimeters) of snow were forecast for Oklahoma, accompanied by "dangerous wind chills" between zero and minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -23 Celsius), the National Weather Service said.

"Goldman . . . came up with this idea of the commodity index fund, which really was a way for them to accumulate huge piles of cash for themselves... Instead of a buy-and-sell order, like everybody does in these markets, they just started buying. It’s called "going long." They started going long on wheat futures... And every time one of these contracts came due, they would do something called "rolling it over" into the next contract... And they kept on buying and buying and buying and buying and accumulating this historically unprecedented pile of long-only wheat futures. And this accumulation created a very odd phenomenon in the market. It’s called a "demand shock." Usually prices go up because supply is low... In this case, Goldman and the other banks had introduced this completely unnatural and artificial demand to buy wheat, and that then set the price up... [H]ard red wheat generally trades between $3 and $6 per sixty-pound bushel. It went up to $12, then $15, then $18. Then it broke $20. And on February 25th, 2008, hard red spring futures settled at $25 per bushel...[T]he irony here is that in 2008, it was the greatest wheat-producing year in world history.

It is Time for Ethanol fuel to STOP!  Corn prices going through the roof, bad harvest - China importing more than ever! Let corn be where most needed - Food NOT Fuel ~ link ~ Corn prices have been shooting up the last week in commodity trades. China is now importing more than ever, in fact 9 times more than last year! Corn has been wiped out in many places due to floods, droughts etc around the world. There is less corn in storage than ever before. The list goes on and on about a depletion of harvest-able corn.

Yet, a large percentage of corn is taken and used for Ethanol fuel instead of being used for food. 26 pounds of corn is needed to make one gallon of Ethanol.  In 2006, the U.S. consumed nearly 5.4 billion gallons of ethanol.  Now compute those numbers into how much corn is used as fuel instead of food!

There are many people starving around the world and are without food, besides food prices inflating big time everywhere. That is how all the protests got started in the Middle East. It is over food and the price of food in that area.

Dear Lrd Stirling,

A few days ago I asked you who might be behind the revolts in northern Africa.
You replied: Hunger, police state, bad education, no human rights, prices for food..........

Well, now you answer myquestion yourself, by publishing the following article:

"Egypt - Creative Destruction For A 'Greater Middle East'? The Promised Land?"

An article like this has been on my mind, but I could not write it in such a smart manner.

Yours, in Jesus Christ, our Saviour,
