Ancient Scottish Barony Title for sale. There are about 100 Scottish feudal baronies that still exist; only a handful are from the very ancient Baronage of the Isles, as this one is. In a time of economic crisis, it pays to put some of your wealth into important artwork, properties, etc. of rare value. This is one of the most rare things that can be purchased and held. Humans have intentionally modified weather for military purposes and climate control for decades ~ link ~ Can we modify the changes that the BP Oil Disaster triggered (the death of the Loop Current and its effect on the Thermohaline Circulation System)? Can we reverse a headlong rush into a mini-Ice Age? Is there technology available that will do this? Stirling

Israel violated Lebanon's Sovereignty 7,000 times in 2010 ~ link ~ Lebanon Foreign Minister Ali Shami uncovered in remarks published Thursday by the Kuwaiti daily al-Anbaa that Israel had committed 7,000 violations of Lebanese sovereignty in 2010.
"Concerns in Lebanon today are due to Israeli intervention," Shami said. Shami, nonetheless, voiced optimism over reaching a solution to the Lebanon crisis by Syria and Saudi Arabia.
The United Nations on Wednesday declined Lebanon's request to protect the country's natural gas reserves by demarcating its maritime border with Israel.

The meeting on Saturday will focus on connecting local campaigns with anti-tax avoidance groups, student protesters, unions and anti-racism activists in a motion called NetrootsUK conference which has been organized by bloggers and received backing from the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
One of the organizers of the conference is Sunny Hundal, editor of the leftwing Liberal Conspiracy blog.
"There is widespread concern over what the coalition is doing to our economy and in recent months we've seen an enormous buildup of energy from across the country to do something about it. But most of it has been in separate campaigns. What we're trying to do here is bring together veteran campaigners with new movements so we can learn from each other, and use social media to keep on top of what works and what doesn't. It's the first time we have seen anything like this on such a scale", he said.

CBC: When North Goes South - Pole Flip ~ link ~ The earth has two North poles, the geographic and the magnetic. The magnetic pole is the one that attracts the needles of our compasses. It’s always moving, but could it be about to flip? What will be the impact? Paleomagnetism has taught us that the magnetic pole flips regularly, going from north to south and vice versa, once every 250,000 years on average. However, the last inversion occurred 780,000 years ago! Are we on the eve of such a major event?

Artifacts found in Crete prove ancient man sailed high seas over 130,000 years ago ~ link ~ Archaeologists have discovered a set of tools they believe prove that man sailed the sea tens of thousands of years earlier than previously thought. Rough axes and other tools thought to be between 130,000 and 700,000 years old were found close to shelters on the south coast of the Mediterranean island of Crete. Crete has been separated from the mainland of Greece for about five million years, so whoever made the tools must have travelled there by sea, a distance of at least 40 miles.
Next, the researchers plan to explore how the cloaking technology could influence applications from military stealth to soundproofing to health care. For example, ultrasound and other acoustic imaging techniques are common in medical practice, but many things in the body can cause interference and mar the image. A metamaterial bandage or shield could effectively hide a troublesome area so the scanner could focus on the region of interest.
The cloaking technology also may affect nonlinear acoustic phenomena. One problem plaguing fast-moving underwater objects is cavitation, or the formation and implosion of bubbles. Fang and his group believe that they could harness their cloak’s abilities to balance energy in cavitation-causing areas, such as the vortex around a propeller.
