Ancient Scottish Barony Title for sale.  There are about 100 Scottish feudal baronies  that still exist; only a handful are from the very ancient Baronage of the Isles, as this one is.  In a time of economic crisis, it pays to put some of your wealth into important artwork, properties, etc. of rare value.  This is one of the most rare things that can be purchased and held. For sale at US$150,000 ~ link

Preliminary War Warning for the Koreas, Japan, Russian Far East, South China:  Persons in these areas should be prepared to move to nuclear/biological/chemical defense shelters at any time.  Conditions are indicative of a pre-war/near-war environment.  Large American/South Korean naval forces are engaged in 'war games' just offshore of North Korea and near China.  The Philippines are moving to get their workers out of South Korea.  The North Koreans have recalled tens of thousands of their workers from Russia to North Korea with little publicity.  This latter event is most troubling.  If you are traveling in/to this part of the world, you should delay you trip until things settle down, if in fact that happens.  Pray for peace.  Stirling
The Battle of Europe*
*Irish Green Party Senator to introduce a Financial Treason Bill ~ link ~ YES!  I would recommend bringing back public hanging for the most serious cases.  Stirling
Senator Boyle said: "Among the many reasons why there has been no action taken against known individuals working in Irish financial institutions – whose greed and recklessness have brought us to where we are – is that properly defined legislation seems to be lacking in defining this kind of white collar crime and fraud."
"I believe that there should be an offence of financial treason, carrying a mandatory sentence and huge fines, that would be applicable to defined individuals working in financial institutions licenced by the Irish State," said Boyle.
“There would be convictions on foot of any decision made knowingly by such individuals that result in reputational damage for the country, an unacceptable economic cost, or a loss of economic sovereignty," he said.

He added: "While much public anger has a political focus, and much of this is justified, the inability to bring to justice those whose self interest and greed so undermined our national wellbeing, is something that must end – and end soon."

*Irish bailout terms provoke risk of 'revolt' over next week's budget ~ link ~ If the corrupt Irish political class does not stop this massive rip-off of the Irish people by the global banksters and the IMF/EU there just might be a real revolt.  The Irish 'remember' well how it was to live under a foreign power's thumb ... and they are not too keen to allow it to happen again.

*Contagion strikes Italy as Ireland bail-out fails to calm markets - link ~ All going as planned.  Soon there will be a "distraction", war. Stirling
It was the worst single day in Mediterranean markets since the launch of monetary union
Spreads on Italian and Belgian bonds jumped to a post-EMU high as the sell-off moved beyond the battered trio of Ireland, Portugal, and Spain, raising concerns that the crisis could start to turn systemic. It was the worst single day in Mediterranean markets since the launch of monetary union.
The euro fell sharply to a two-month low of €1.3064 against the dollar, while bourses slid across the world. The FTSE 100 fell almost 118 points to 5,550, while the Dow was off 120 points in early trading.

"The crisis is intensifying and worsening," said Nick Matthews, a credit expert at RBS. "Bond purchases by the European Central Bank are the only anti-contagion weapon left. It needs to act much more aggressively."

In Dublin, Fine Gael, Labour and Sinn Fein have all vowed to vote against the austerity budget in early December, raising doubts over whether the government can deliver on its promises to the EU.

Echoing the national mood, Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams said it was "disgraceful" that the Irish people should be reduced to debt servitude to foreign creditors of reckless banks. "The costs of this deal to ordinary people will result in hugely damaging cuts," he said.

One poll suggested a majority of Irish voters favour default on Ireland's bank debt. Popular fury raises the "political risk" that a new government elected next year will turn its back on the deal.

Korean Crisis+

US Senator (former GOP presidential candidate) McCain: Time to discuss 'regime change' in North Korea ~ link ~ Now folks, don't get me wrong, I have long said that the government/society/system in North Korea was the most insane and evil regime on Earth.  However, getting rid of them could be "very costly".  Costly in terms of American lives, South Korean lives, North Korean lives, Japanese lives, to say nothing of the dollar costs/etc.  I was born during the (First?) Korean War.  Fighting the Communist North Koreans and Red Chinese was hell on earth for our boys.  They came at us in massive waves of troops firing their sub-machine guns.  The stories of the Korean War are mostly horrible.  And now they appear to have nukes and certainly chemical and most likely Advanced Biological weapons.  We know they used advanced conventional Fuel Air Explosive shells in their most recent attack.  They have about 10 million men and women under arms.  We would have to go nuclear or risk loosing entire divisions.  A nuclear war on China and Russia's doorsteps!  We need to think this one through.  Stirling

+South Korea cancels new artillery drills on tense island ~ link ~ South Korea's military said Monday that new artillery drills planned for the front-line island targeted in last week's deadly North Korean bombardment were postponed, hours after authorities on the island announced the exercises.

Similar live-fire maneuvers by South Korean troops one week earlier triggered the North's bombardment that decimated parts of Yeonpyeong Island, killed four people and drew return fire in a clash that set the region on edge.

+Seoul vows naval, air strikes on North Korea ~ link ~ Outgoing Defense Minister Kim Tae-young said Monday that fighter jets and warships of South Korean and U.S. forces will immediately strike North Korean targets should the North launch an attack on the South’s soil again.

Kim’s remarks at a parliamentary session came as the allies were conducting high-profile naval and air strike drills in waters off Taean, about 170 kilometers southwest of Seoul, on the second day of a four-day joint exercise.

$1.6 Trillion "Military Mafia".  NATO Countries
Account For 70% Of World Military Budget ~ link ~
The world is now spending more than $4 billion on its militaries every day, and that doesn’t include the world’s largest army, China, six declared rogue states and a host of other non-state and undocumented actors.

Total global defence spending in 2009 was $1,563 billion compared to $1,050 billion in 2000. That’s roughly a 50 percent growth. For the first time, this figure has crossed $1,550 billion, which the whole world spent at the height of the Cold War in 1988 when regular armies of dozens of countries were either falling in the camps of USSR or the USA.

The US, Europe and the UK spend around 70 percent of the said money, with nearly half of the total global military spending being done by America. All rogue states, the so-called perceived enemies of the West ie North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Cuba and Libya, and finally al Qaeda, reportedly spent less than one percent of the total global military spending in 2009.

Even if we factor in the Chinese defence spending ($70 billion in 2009) and Russian spending ($47 billion in 2009), the total defence spending of all these states (potentially hostile to the US and NATO) came to $133 billion, which is just about nine percent of the global defence industry. The math is quiet straight and often known to learned circles. Let’s examine how it all is happening.

The Stench of US Economic Decay: Russia and China Dump the US Dollar ~ link
On Thanksgiving eve the English language China Daily and People’s Daily Online reported that Russia and China have concluded an agreement to abandon the use of the US dollar in their bilateral trade and to use their own currencies in its place.  The Russians and Chinese said that they had taken this step in order to insulate their economies from the risks that have undermined their confidence in the US dollar as a world reserve currency.

This is big news, especially for the news dead Thanksgiving holiday period, but I did not see it reported on Bloomberg, CNN, New York Times or anywhere in the US print or TV media. The ostrich’s head remains in the sand.

Previously, China concluded the same agreement with Brazil.

As China has a large and growing supply of dollars from trade surpluses with which to conduct trade, China is signaling that she prefers Russian rubles and Brazilian reals to more US dollars.

The American financial press finds solace in the episodes when sovereign debt scares in the EU send the dollar up against the euro and UK pound. But these currency movements are just measures of financial players shorting troubled EU-denominated debt. They are not a measure of dollar strength.

The dollar’s role as world reserve currency is one of the main instruments of American financial hegemony. We haven’t been told how much damage Wall Street fraud has inflicted on EU financial institutions, but the EU countries no longer need the US dollar for trade between themselves as they share a common currency. Once the OPEC countries cease to hold the dollars that they are paid for oil, dollar hegemony will have faded away.

Less Than a Tenth of Bank of America's Assets Comes From Traditional Banking Deposits ~ link ~ I have long pointed out that the too big to fails make very little of their money off of traditional depository functions.

Specifically, Bank of America - the U.S. largest bank - has only $83 billion in deposit accounts (what they call "transaction accounts").

But B of A has between $1.3 and $1.5 trillion in total bulk assets and liabilities.

In other words, far less than a tenth of B of A's overall assets come from traditional banking functions.
Why do we need to save the too big to fails again?

Cutting the Deficit: Sacrificing Workers to Save the Rich ~ link ~ The most important and popular social and tax programs in the United States are threatened by a self-styled “Bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform”.  Appointed by President Obama on February 18, 2010, co-chaired by two longstanding champions of Wall Street:  ex Senator Simpson (R, WY) and former Clintonite White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles.  The Commission Report issued November 10 proposes to slash social security payments, reducing recipients to poverty, raise the retirement age to 69 ensuring that millions of workers will die before they can retire, or enter retirement in ill health; reduce or freeze cost of living increases through inflation indexes which understate by half the rises in food, gas, hospital and education.  The Commission proposes deep cuts in Medicare, increased Medicaid co-pays and slashing $54 billion from graduate medical education.  The Commission proposes to eliminate tax breaks including deductions for home mortgage interest payments while taxing employer provided medical insurance.
The same Commission Report proposes to reduce capital gains and income taxes for the rich by up to 24%.

The so-called crisis of Social Security is a result of the Republican and Democratic governments siphoning off payments into the general fund.  The forthcoming shortfall (2030) can be easily remedied by lifting the payroll tax ceiling, for the rich, taxing all earned income.

Medical costs can be reduced by 50% by replacing the for profit corporate health insurance and pharmaceutical corporations with a non-profit national health system, similar to successful programs in Europe and Canada.

Medical plans and Social Security can be easily funded by imposing a 1% sales tax on the sale of stocks and bonds.

Welcome to the Food Wars: Patriot Act for Food - A close look at bizarre propaganda for S.510 ~ link
Need a good laugh? Check out the bizarre reasoning offered in support of the Patriot Act for Food (S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act), which the U.S. Senate will vote on shortly (likely Monday). From a need to stop food smuggling, to the law is too old, to the terrorists are gonna get us, elites sure are shy on brains when it comes to credible propaganda. They must be drinking fluoridated water and smoking Monsanto marijuana, or hoping you are.

Whole Body Backscatter X-Ray Airport Security Scanners: Serious Health Risk for Air Travel Passengers ~ link

The physics of these X-rays is very telling: the X-rays are Compton-Scattering off outer molecule bonding electrons and thus inelastic (likely breaking bonds).

Unlike other scanners, these new devices operate at relatively low beam energies (28keV). The majority of their energy is delivered to the skin and the underlying tissue. Thus, while the dose would be safe if it were distributed throughout the volume of the entire body, the dose to the skin may be dangerously high.

The X-ray dose from these devices has often been compared in the media to the cosmic ray exposure inherent to airplane travel or that of a chest X-ray. However, this comparison is very misleading: both the air travel cosmic ray exposure and chest Xrays have much higher X-ray energies and the health consequences are appropriately understood in terms of the whole body volume dose. In contrast, these new airport scanners are largely depositing their energy into the skin and immediately adjacent tissue, and since this is such a small fraction of body weight/vol, possibly by one to two orders of magnitude, the real dose to the skin is now high.

Low Dose Arsenic for a Cyanide Society ~ link
Many believe that an 81 mg aspirin a day will help prevent a heart attack. Yet even greater numbers voluntarily absorb regular doses of poison with their daily diet. Start with the mass media. If you watch network programming, you are being programmed. Doubt this conclusion and you prove just how well the brainwashing has taken hold. The nightly news is a prime example of shaping a view of the world according to the script that keeps you dumb and stupid.

To prove this point, just watch any news broadcast from an international newscast source. The difference from NBC, CBS or ABC is stark. Now read a newspaper from overseas and compare the editorial selection from the New York Times, Washington Post or USA Today. The lack of professional journalistic standards is obvious in the fish wrapper version from establishment publications. The theme in both broadcast and print media is the same. View the world with blinders, from a superficial microcosm.

BP Gulf Oil Disaster Climate Changes ^

^Chaos already - and now the cold will really bite ~ link ~
Hundreds of schools shut across the country yesterday, as thick snow continued to fall and temperatures plummeted to well below freezing. Thousands of homes were without power and roads and airports were closed, causing travel chaos. Forecasters were warning that temperatures could plunge even lower last night, to -20C, as snow was expected to hit London and the Home Counties .

Scotland, Northern Ireland, the North-east of England and Cornwall were the worst affected. Around 3,000 homes in Scotland were left with no electricity, while thunderstorms also caused power cuts in Cornwall. The severe weather is expected to continue until next week.

^Snow closes roads and schools from Cornwall to Scotland - with video ~ link  ~ Britain's worst November snowfall for decades shut schools and roads from Cornwall to Scotland as forecasters warned that Siberian winds could bring temperatures as low as minus 20C in the coming days.
''Workers who travel by car may want to consider other options, such as working from home or another form of transport.''

Coldest overnight in the UK was Altnaharra in northern Scotland, which recorded a low of minus 16.1C (3F).
Llysdinam, which saw Wales's chilliest ever November reading on Sunday at minus 18C (minus 0.4F), was a bit warmer today at minus 12.9C (8.8F). The temperature in Northolt, west London, bottomed out at minus 2.2C (28F), but it was colder in the South West, with North Dartmoor recording minus 7.9C (17.8F).

Hogan's holometer: Testing the hypothesis of a holographic universe ~ linkA comment to this article is one of several that make you think:

  1. There is a connection between NDE’s and quantum physics and the holographic universe that has never been adequately explained away to me. Near death experiencers routinely describe their experiences in terms that can only be called “holographic” and they also say things that seem to parallel things I’ve read about quantum physics. I find that very evidential. There is no way that a housewife from Kansas or an uneducated truck driver from South Georgia would know or understand anything about quantum physics or the holographic nature of the universe.

People who have NDE’s routinely talk about overwhelming feelings of oneness and connectedness, feeling like they are everywhere in the universe at once, time and space not existing, buildings that are “made out of knowledge”, 360 degree vision, seeing colors they’ve never seen before, hearing sounds that they haven’t heard in this physical universe, and during the life review seeing their whole lives flash by in an instant (bolus of information)and feeling the emotions and feelings of the people they interacted with (the life review is a holographic experience par excellence), and how the other side will feel even more real to us than this side does, and feeling the feelings and hearing the thoughts of the people they interacted with. I find these things to be very evidential because it parallels things I’ve read about in popular physics books.

There is quite a bit of evidence from physics and near death experiences that our so called physical universe is some kind of strange holographic projection. The implications of this are enormous. The blurriness of a holographic projection explains why it is that so many near death experiencers say that the other side will feel even more real to us than this side does, and how it could be “realer than real” or “more consciousness than normal.” Near death experiencers also say that it will feel even more real to us than this side does. I’m thinking that the place we call “heaven” is actually the original film from where our universe is projected from.
