*Iceland's politicians forced to flee from angry protesters ~ link ~  Pay attention folks, what we are seeing is THE BATTLE OF EUROPE developing before our very eyes daily.

Protesters took to the streets of Reykjavik today, forcing MPs to run away from the people they represent as renewed anger about the impact of the financial crisis erupted in Iceland.

The violent protest came amid growing fury at austerity measures being imposed across Europe. Disruption in more than a dozen countries this week included a national strike in Spain and a cement truck driven into the Irish parliament's gates.

Witnesses said up to 2,000 people caused chaos at the state opening of the Icelandic parliament, with politicians forced to race to the back door of the building because of the large number of protesters at the front. Eggs were said to have hit the prime minister, Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, other MPs and the wife of the Icelandic president, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson.

*Dutch "anti-Islam" MP Geert Wilders goes on trial - with video ~ link ~  This is a scam on at least two levels.  First, the allowing of massive immigration from non-European nations is very destructive to most European countries, especially during a global economic depression.  The strange dress and lifestyles would be tolerated in small numbers, but in many cities there are now very large poor non-European immigrant (both legal and illegal) communities.  Some of these communities, instead of trying to blend into the existing culture are headstrong about keeping and expanding their historic cultures, and laws based on these cultures.  Needless to say, that causes the native population to wonder just what in the hell is really going on (like: are we being invaded slowly and defeated by foreigners in our own land?).  These are often reasonable fears and questions.  The scam part is that this is a part of the ruling global banking cartel's plan to break apart traditional European national culture, traditions, languages, and independent politics and economies.  The second scam is that the backlash from all these poor Muslin non-European immigrants taking over large parts of European cities is itself a sought after goal of these same global banking families who have arranged the 'invasion' in the first place.  It fits in with the goal of having the Christian nations fight the Muslin nations as a key part of the coming Third World War, which is the linchpin in the Grand Strategy to bring about the New World Order, a global police/slave state with a tiny minority controlling all economic resources and power globally, with a much reduced population base.    Stirling

The coalition deal that emerged last week joins two centre-right parties in a minority government, which will seek the backing of parliament this week. A suspected US drone strike killed eight militants of German nationality in northwest Pakistan on Monday, Pakistani intelligence officials said. They were killed when two missiles from a suspected CIA pilotless aircraft struck a mosque in Mirali in North Waziristan, the intelligence officials said. The strikes came a day after the United States and Britain issued warnings of an increased risk of terrorist attacks in Europe. The US State Department warned American citizens to exercise caution if travelling in Europe. Britain raised the threat level to “high” from “general” for its citizens travelling to Germany and France. The plot that triggered the alerts involved al Qaeda and allied militants, possibly including European citizens or residents, intelligence sources said last week.

They said the militants were plotting coordinated attacks on European cities. Western security officials said they believed a group of individuals in northern Pakistan were connected to the plot.

Iran opens airspace to Chinese warplanes ~ link ~ Oh yes, the groundwork is being prepared for the line-up in the coming global war/Third World War/ Armageddon.  Stirling

The Islamic Republic of Iran has reportedly opened its airspace to Chinese warplanes taking part in joint military maneuvers with Turkey.

Ankara and Beijing conducted the drills in Turkey's Central Anatolia region last month. The war games, codenamed the Anatolian Eagle, were the first involving Turkey and China. Turkey had previously carried out Anatolian Eagle maneuvers with the US and other NATO members as well as Israel. Turkish F-16, Chinese Su-27 and Mig-29 fighter jets took part in mock dogfights during the drills.

The maneuvers come ahead of a planned visit by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to Turkey.
 

NATO chief urges Pakistan to re-open supply route to Afghan War ~ link ~  BRUSSELS: Nato chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen urged Pakistan on Monday to reopen a key Afghanistan supply route “as soon as possible” and expressed regret for the deaths of Pakistani troops in a Nato strike.

Pakistan has blocked a land route for Nato convoys carrying supplies to neighbouring Afghanistan since Thursday after officials blamed a cross-border Nato helicopter attack for the deaths of three Pakistani soldiers.

While the key supply route remains closed, Nato supply convoys have come under attacks in Pakistan in the past three days. Pakistani Taliban militants claimed on Monday two fiery raids in which nearly 60 trucks have been torched.

Pakistan floods curb food aid to Afghanistan ~ link ~ 

 KABUL: Pakistan's devastating floods have interrupted delivery of food aid to neighboring Afghanistan that would have fed about a million people this winter, the UN World Food Program said Monday.

Many people in rural areas of impoverished, war-ravaged Afghanistan risk starvation, and the poorest subsist on bread and tea through the long, harsh winter. The World Food Program normally tries to move its aid there in autumn, before winter weather blocks mountain roads for months.

Russia steps up Navy presence in Arctic ~ link ~  Moscow: Russia is strengthening its naval presence in the Arctic, a senior Russian military official has said, stoking concerns of a scramble to secure rights to the region's energy-rich seabed.

Tea-baggers are kicking the revolution into high gear. Debt is sinking America. Both parties are to blame. So vote out incumbents. Spare no one. We need new leadership, another Reagan or Truman. Congress better get the message: Cut that budget, or they’ll dump the rest of you in the coming Great Purge of 2012.

Unfortunately they’re tone deaf. Congress cannot see past the election. All that changes in November.

So thanks Tea Party, Vegas odds must favor a Second American Revolution. Actually, the revolution is already roaring, hot, it’s about time. The GOP and the Dems had more than a decade. But America’s worse off. We need a real revolution to restore sanity … or we can kiss democracy and capitalism good-bye, permanently.

In the nastiest April Fool's Joke of all time, the European Directive on Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products (THMPD) was enacted back on 31 March 2004.(1) It laid down rules and regulations for the use of herbal products that had previously been freely traded.

This directive requires that all herbal preparations must be put through the same kind of procedure as pharmaceuticals. It makes no difference whether a herb has been in common use for thousands of years. The costs for this are far higher than most manufacturers, other than Big Pharma, can bear, with estimates ranging from £80,000 to £120,000 per herb, and with each herb of a compound having to be treated separately.

It matters not that a herb has been used safely and effectively for thousands of years. It will be treated as if it were a drug. Of course, herbs are far from that. They're preparations made from biological sources. They aren't necessarily purified, as that can change their nature and efficacy, just as it can in food. It's a distortion of their nature and the nature of herbalism to treat them like drugs. That, of course, makes no difference in the Big Pharma-ruled edifice of the EU, which has enshrined corporatism in its constitution.
