News, Links of the Day, Coming Third World War, Global Depression

Report: Iran Will Respond If Israel Strikes ~ link ~ A strike on Iran will become a general Middle East War on day one. Strikes and Counter-strikes will likely take things to the use of nuclear and advanced biological weapons of mass destruction very early in the war and that is likely to spread throughout the world becoming the Third World War/Armageddon.

Egypt Lets 100 Protesters Go To Gaza ~ link ~ Israel can no longer spin its way out of world condemnation for its harsh actions in Gaza. The Gaza War, a year ago, ended that. Israel can live in long term peace and prosperity, but it has to completely rethink its Grand Strategy. Having a continuing near-war state of events with its neighbors is really totally crazy in the day and age of 21st Century weapons.

Israel's Increasing Anti-Christianity ~ link ~ This is something that I have been noticing for a number of years. The religious extremists in Israel are calling way too many of the shots.

Ayatollah Khamenei's jet checked, Iran Supreme Leader may flee to Russia if necessary ~ link ~ Sorry, but I just think that this is wishful thinking and propaganda. Iran is a long way from revolution and the religious leaders have powerful armed elements that will fight hard and dirty before they let themselves be overthrown.

Attack Yemen? by Congressman Ron Paul - video ~ link
“The bigger the problem and the more the fear is built up, the more they take away our personal liberties and turn us all into zombies and the American people go along with it and say as long as it makes us safer I guess it’s OK to go along but it’s time the American people woke up and started realizing that there’s a bit of propaganda going on and quite possibly this incident will not only undermine our personal liberties but will also accelerate our intervention and the violence occurring in the Middle East,”

Obama ordered US military strike on Yemen 'Terrorists' ~ link ~ This mainstream news media article has more fear mongering of the dreaded al Qaeda. What total bullshit! Most people do not buy into the Official 9/11 Conspiracy Theory, it is a bad B Grade movie script. Also See: "Hundreds of al-Qaeda militants planning attacks from Yemen" ~ link ~ There is an old saying, "Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me". If anyone is really dumb enough to buy into this fake nonsense you are dumber than a rock!

Secret CIA Jails in Lithuania: Legacy of Nazi Collaborationism ~ link ~ From an American legal and constitutional point of view, the American officials who were involved in these "jails" in any way shape or form should be charged with multiple felonies. Their actions were illegal and totally unconstitutional. So, where are the criminal charges??? Also See: Lithuanian Parliamentary Commission Confirms Presence of CIA Prisons ~ link

Voting machine maker faces Federal hearings ~ link

A Grand Jury May Answer the Question: Who Is Accountable for a War Started on the False Claims that Iraq had WMD? ~ link ~ Bush, Cheney and a number of people on both sides of the Atlantic (including Phony Tony Blair) should be indicted for war crimes. That is the only way, short of a revolution, to end this war profiteering-driven endless war/more war mania that engulfs us.

Harman and Winograd Congressional Race Heats Up ~ link ~
A little more than seven months after launching her second attempt to unseat California's powerful eight-term Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Jane Harman, the PDA-backed Marcy Winograd recently sent out a fundraising email in which she described Harman as the Joe Lieberman of the House.

Are Presidents Afraid of the CIA? ~ link ~ The CIA played a major role in the murder of President Kennedy and others and no one has ever answered for those crimes.

Bankers get a $4 TRILLION gift from Barney Frank ~ link ~
-- Instead, it supports the biggest banks. It authorizes Federal Reserve banks to provide as much as $4 trillion in emergency funding the next time Wall Street crashes. So much for “no-more-bailouts” talk. That is more than twice what the Fed pumped into markets this time around. The size of the fund makes the bribes in the Senate’s health-care bill look minuscule.

Financial Coup D'etat - video ~ link ~ This features a Congresswoman who has the courage of her convictions and puts America and the American people first.

General Motors Confirms the Closure of Saab ~ link ~ Damn shame, lots of people will be out of work from this. Moreover, they had a buyer but GM would not sell. Saab made some interesting cars (the batteries were not very good and a key negative feature, but the cars themselves were good and long lasting).

Congressman Dennis Kucinich questions Treasury's Assistance to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ~ link ~
“Many questions remain unanswered regarding this move by the Treasury. Why suddenly remove the cap?”, Kucinich asked. “Indications are that Freddie and Fannie, even as millions of Americans lose their homes, have used just $111 billion of the $400 billion previously available to them.”

“Additionally, I want to determine whether Fannie and Freddie have a cohesive plan to buy up the underperforming mortgages that remain on the books of the big banks, at appropriate prices, and undertake a massive reworking of the terms of the mortgages so as to stem the foreclosure crisis that continues to plague our country,” Kucinich said. “This new authority must be used responsibly and for the benefit of American families. This cannot be used simply to purchase toxic assets at inflated prices, thus transferring the losses to the U. S. taxpayers and acting as a back door TARP.

German Court hands down life sentence in 'honor killing' ~ link ~ Good! If I had been the judge, I likely would have hung the bastards if it had been an option.

Australian report canvasses nuclear weapons option ~ link ~
An Australian government-funded military policy think tank issued a report this month advocating a policy shift to re-open the option of building a nuclear arsenal under conditions where US power is waning and “great-power relationships are shifting”.

Belgrade Form's Position on Serbia-NATO Relationship ~ link ~ Just a personal note here: I have been to Belgrade and was very impressed. Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe. It has a relatively safe and friendly environment, reasonable prices, and the most beautiful women I have ever seen in one place in my life.

Blue Moon Eclipse on New Year's Eve ~ link ~ link ~
link ~ Blue Moons are rare (once every ~2.5 years). Blue Moons on New Year's Eve are rarer still (once every ~19 years). How rare is a lunar eclipse of a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve?

WHO: Swine Flu virus 'could still mutate' ~ link ~ It's a shame that WHO does not put any effort into discovering just which nation or group genetically engineered A/H1N1 in the first place; and who ordered the spraying of western Ukrainian cities with biowar germs.

Lack of priests hits scandal plagued Ireland ~ link ~ Every bishop has an absolute duty to provide, as much as he is able to, sufficient priests to administer the sacraments. Already in a number of places in Africa and South America, this means that married men are being ordained and priests are quietly getting married and staying priests. This old nonsense of mandatory celibacy has to end; it is a 800 year rule in a 2,000 year old Church. A number of Popes were married including St. Peter himself, thousands and thousands of bishops and priests have been married men in the past. It is time to start ordaining married men and it is time that good Catholics demand this of the Pope and of their bishop.
